About the Author
Daniel and Haley are 20-something Catholic converts who married young (eight years ago) and still really like each other. They'vebeen blessed with three amazing kids under the age of five who bring joy and chaos to their lives. (Daniel and Haley haven’t had a full night’s sleep since 2009.) Daniel works full-time away from home and maintains their occasionally fruitful garden and always ornery flock of chickens. He enjoys running and knows way too much about Star Wars. Haley spends her days homeschooling their four-year-old, chasing babies, drinking coffee, and reading Jane Austen. She is also a free-lance writer and blogs at Carrots for Michaelmas.

The best part of the book is the overall impression that celebrating a Feast Day does not have to mean a huge celebration or ordeal. It can just be simple, thought out meal - no crafts, no long speeches or passages to memorize - with your family allowing you one moment in your busy life to sit down and reflect, if just for a few minutes, on the inspiring life of someone who lived fully in their faith. A great approach for the modern, Catholic family.
I really hope this might be the first of many cookbooks from the Stewarts!
(I purchased the paper copy and can say that it prints up beautifully if you're a little old school and like a paper book in your hands)
Lots of super recipes, but by far the best one I've tried is the shepherd's pie. Just delicious! The price of the book is worth it for this recipe. Your family and friends (a great recipe to make when gifting food to new mothers, grieving families etc.) will thank you.
DO NOT BUY. A complete waste of money and time.
*I have the pdf version, not the hard copy*
I really love how simple and inexpensive these recipes are, while also being tasty. The portions are perfect for family portions. So, it's really what I've been looking for!
I think there could have been more recipes and less essay-length reflections.
