Feather Artist Club SS Single Straight Razors feature a folding resin handle for a secure grip and stainless steel body for a traditional, comfortable shave. The handle provides a comfortable, slip-resistant grip and is resistant to disinfectants, chemicals, and heat up to 135°C (275°F).

The razor can be disinfected by either boiling or using ethanol. The razor head can easily be dismantled and cleaned from the inside by rinsing water directly on the mechanism. Do not use "sodium hypochlorite" for disinfecting. Recommended for professional beauty and barber use only.

After having shaved with either Gillette Sensor type of razors, electric foil razors, or a combo of both for the last 35 years...I recently started the exploration process of using a straight razor.

In that process I have tried several shavette types that use 1/2 of a double edge and have become very proficient with them rather quickly. Knowing this, I was somewhat hesitant to try the Feather SS as it's substantially more expensive then say...a Parker professional at only $24.

That said, my Feather SS arrived a few minutes ago, and having just used it....I have to say I love this thing! It's a dream to shave with compared to any other I have used! Seriously...the difference is night and day!

THis is my first foray into single-edge razor shaving, and I went for the gusto with the Feather Professional Super blades (suuuuuper shaaaarrrrppp!!) and this Feather SS Folding Handle Razor. Watched some videos on how to shave with a single-edge, didn't want a traditional straight razor and thought this would be a great transition from my years of safety razor shaving. It has been great, though you really need to have patience and NOT RUSH when learning how to use this razor - it's a beast that you can tame, but that will let you know who's boss if you aren't careful! I can say that shaving with this razor has made me a better shaver with the safety razor, because the Feather lets you understand the dynamics of what shaving should be -- or else! I look forward to shaving with it, but am also glad to have an Andis electric to polish up my beard growth to buzz off 5-o'clock shadow when I don't feel like an additional shaving session. In sum, I'm super happy with my Feather SS Folding Handle Razor, and understand the appeal of the same Feather SS Straight razor, which uses the same blades but doesn't fold. I thought it might be an awkward handle to learn to shave with, but I hold the folding one completely open some times and it makes sense to have one like that in the arsenal, but not right now!

This is an excellent razor. It was my first attempt into the "straight" type razors. The material is definitely quality. I was a little scared to try it based on the reviews where everyone says how excessively sharp the blades are and how easy it is to cut yourself. It is sharp and you should take your time but I was pleasantly surprised. Only one minor nick on my first shave and none since. So while you should take your time don't let other reviews scare you off. It's is important to have a light touch but if you do you will be fine. Maybe if you use this after only shaving with cartridges more care may be needed since pressure is used with cartridges. However if you have the hang of a safety razor and the lack of pressure used for that this is nothing to be scared of

I bought this product for personal use to learn with in conjunction to a traditional straight razor. I am very pleased with this product. I use AC Pro blades with it. The construction is solid and has a good weight to it. Folks often comment how unforgiving and ridges shavettes can be, but with normal careful use I’ve found that it is not nearly as scary as some make it out to be. The blade exposure is even, the blade is very secure, and the shave is very smooth thanks to the “ridges” near the edge. The Feather AC system may well be the apex of shavettes. I am eager to eventually try the DX model.

As a Barber this Razor is great. My clients told me Thank goodness you upgraded form that cheap razor i used before. People know quality when they see it.

1) the fact that i can use my straight razor Dorce and feather artist club blades is a plus for me. Since I also use single edge blades I had to break off the ends of the straight edge blade so it doesn’t stick out and cut someone. Not a deal breaker for me.
2) love the slide in no touch cartridge.
3) lite and comfy feel in my hands.
4) has a bevel for safer shave.
5) you can get 5 feather blade options to choose from.

This is an astonishingly comfortable razor. I bought the softguard blades and my first shave with it was a full 3 pass shave. No nicks, no irritation. Normally I only get shaves this comfortable with a Merkur 34. If you have sensitive skin and want to have a straight razor experience, this with the softguard blades is it.

The build quality is great, even with the plastic handle. If I had known it would shave this well I would have paid the extra for the nice wood handle. I might still get one later, but my bet is this one will last a lifetime anyway.

The design of the head is fantastic. Feels very protective, very sturdy, and the weight is a great aid to the shave. It is super easy to find the correct angle and maintain it- and it is forgiving if you don’t. Easy to clean, disassemble and reassemble. Blades can be loaded injector style so there’s no need to touch the blades.

I could do with a shave this mild every day, but it shaves so close it would probably be another couple days before I need one. I would even feel safe going with one of the more aggressive blades, which is saying an awful lot for someone with sensitive skin like mine.

If you’re on the fence and worried about irritation, get the soft guard blades and give this a try. It will amaze you.

Saw this on Amazon at just over £50 and thought it was a steal. Using it with Feather injector blades and the extra quality over a cheapo shavette is night and day. Built to last, the 'pinch' blade mechanism is very satisfying to use, and the attention to detail over the build with slightly rounded corners so that you aren't running a 'square' blade against your face is appreciable. It is pricy, and the injector blades are a little expensive, but it's a well engineered piece of kit.

Das Feather Artist Club-SS ist ein absolut hochwertiges und durchdachtes Produkt das die Konkurrenz (auch im Preis) weit hinter sich lässt.

Die Materialien sind hochwertig und sauber gearbeitet. Keine Grate stören, die Komponenten sind spielfrei und das Gewicht und die Größe gut aufeinander abgestimmt.
Selbst die Details sprechen für das Produkt. Griff und Klingenhalter sind miteinander verschraubt und mit Unterlegscheiben versehen, statt wie so oft nur vernietet. Ein nachziehen ist somit einfach möglich.
Der Klingenhalter selbst hat ein angenehmes Gewicht und liegt gut in der Hand. Zwar ist er nicht ganz so schwer wie ein echtes Rasiermesser, kommt aber meinem Wacker Rasiermesser recht nahe. Vom Gefühl her ist das sehr angenehm und ermöglicht mir ein präzises Führen der Shavette.
Der Klemmmechanismus selbst ist einfach und durchdacht. Man drückt den Kopf leicht zusammen und lässt die Klinge in den Spalt fallen. Fertig. Kein umständliches fummeln mit Klingen auf irgendwelche Nasen wo man dann vorsichtig die Abdeckung oder Klemmung montieren muss, kein Plastikhalter und keine Klingen zum auseinanderbrechen.
Es gibt kein vergleichbares System was so einfach und zuverlässig ist. Das Feathersystem ist einfach gesagt das beste System.

Die Reinigung ist ebenso unspektakulär. Man kann mit einer Hand den Klemmmechanismus zerlegen und das ganze dann abspülen. Dann schiebt man die Hälften einfach wieder aufeinander und steckt die Klinge wieder rein. Fertig.

Das einzige Manko ist der Preis. Diese Shavette ist teuer und die Klingen haben auch ihren Preis. Aber diese Shavette ist den Preis einfach wert.
Wer das Gefühl einer Messerrasur schätzt, aber zwischendurch ohne abledern oder schärfen einfach rasieren will, liegt mit der Feather goldrichtig.

Se trata de una navaja de afeitado de máxima calidad. Los materiales son estupendos y la fabricación es perfecta. La hoja no se mueve absolutamente tras colocarla en la navaja. El acero con el que está fabricada no tiene imperfecciones y el mango es suave al tacto. Creo que el producto vale cada euro que cuesta. Y es muy bonita, en mi caso con el mango de color negro. Añadir que el producto se presenta dentro de una bolsa de plástico, contenido todo ello en una caja de cartón fino junto a unas instrucciones de uso y mantenimiento en japonés que son fáciles de interpretar porque tienen ilustaciones. Bajo mi punto de vista, un producto bárbaro!

This Razor really feels like a professional one, I used the Pro Guard blades and they are good, but I honestly found Feather DE razor blades much more sharper.

I would say this is the best shavette in the market at the moment, It can be expensive if you don't live in the US cause I got it at the double the price, but well if you want the best then well go for it.
