While the photos were beautiful, the vast majority of them were close-ups of individual pieces of furniture, or close-ups of a small child doing an activity such as reaching for clothing on a child sized hanger. I bought the book hoping that I would see a huge array of photographs of different styles of babies rooms, hopefully with plenty of advice about brand names and where everything was purchased.
Due to the text, I do feel better equipped to find and purchase eco-friendly accoutrements for my baby, such as safe crib mattresses and cribs. However, this book simply wasn't all that I hoped for in terms of the photos. At the end of reading the entire book, I have seven bookmarks in the book of things that I want to refer back to. Only one of them is a photo.
Also, while I enjoyed the authors color palettes that she shared, each color palette had nine colors in it, which meant that I still needed to choose my own color palette in the end. She basically gave generalized color palettes for different styles, such as modern. I would've appreciated a wider variety of smaller color palettes, because how often do you really use nine colors when decorating a room?
Overall, if you're looking to purchase a book about designing eco-friendly nursery with an emphasis on text, this is an excellent book to purchase. However, if you're looking for photographic design inspiration, look elsewhere.
