Anna del C. Dye for Readers' Favorite - In the pages of this book the reader will find a really fun and interesting tale about a magazine reporter who is over her head in a political investigation. Kelly Kaufman is a reporter, assigned to dig into a political figure who wants to run for president. When she doesn't contact her mother for two weeks, Shawna calls the paranormal investigators. She has some shadows and such in her apartment and uses this to bring them to D.C.

continued Readers Favorite..."I really enjoyed the telling and the tale. I consider it a must have in the library of lovers of suspense, romance, and paranormal investigation. "Federal City's Secret" is well-done entertainment for a hot day at the beach or a lazy afternoon at the swimming pool. Robin presents a great story and characters. This is great reading for young adults to adults alike. You will really love this paranormal detective story that will keep you glued through to the last page. I loved it and believe that you will too."

About the Author

Robin Murphy was born in the small coal mining town of Windber, Pennsylvania and remembers a wonderful childhood with her parents and two older brothers. She has worked in the administrative field over the last thirty years and has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Robin has four children – two daughters, Jennifer and Sue, and two sons, Michael and Nathan – three granddaughters – Tessa, Anna, and Abigail, – and grandson, Brendan Michael. She and her husband, Bob were married in Sharpsburg, MD in 1998 by local historian, Rev. John Schildt. After falling in love with the town, they decided to move to Sharpsburg three years later. In 2002, they bought a log home, circa 1783, and continue to restore the fourteen-room house. It's been a true labor of love. Even though Robin has to squeeze her writing into creative times of the day, it is during those moments she feels exhilarated and renewed. “There is no greater feeling than to have found my passion in writing.” She also finds time to swim and loves to travel.

Book 3 in the SIPS series is an enigma to me. Of course I enjoyed hanging out with the team once again. They are fun bunch, like old friends. The story veered from the usual formula, which wouldn’t be necessarily be a bad thing, except that it was kind of muddled. It seems like that author wrote herself into a corner with her carryover from book two and no idea how to move past it. Though it was handled fairly well, to me, it just didn’t have a place in Kelly’s story. The main story about Kelly, was fantastic and I really think she should have her own book or even a series of books because she, along with Nick Lowry, has great potential as a character. It just seems the SIPS team was wholly unneeded for this mystery, except in the most peripheral ways and could have gone home after their own investigation was finished.

Once again the team’s paranormal investigation, the reason for the visit to Washington, was top notch with lots of details and information for the arm chair paranormal investigator to enjoy and, despite the sad turn of events, it is fun seeing Marie’s talents expand and the relationships among the team grow stronger. There is plenty here for SIPS fans to enjoy.

4 Stars

*I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review*

Welcome to D.C. book peeps! This is book three in Robin Murphy's paranormal mystery series. I gotta say, I'm glad I continued reading the series because I am really liking it a lot. With each book it gets better and better.

The characters have become more real for me. More interesting, with more levels and depth to them. That was my biggest issue with the last two books. I'm quite happy to see that this is not the case with this book, Federal City's Secret. Their interactions with each other, their support characters, as well as their inter-dialogue helped to make this an enjoyable read for me.

The mystery, suspense, and action of this book was pretty good. For a paranormal investigation/detective story I think it was worth the read. It was interesting and fun to see the situations being dealt with and the final outcome. I'm glad that the characters caught up to the abilities of the author. They brought this story to life.

The third in the SIPS book series takes the team to the heart of Washington D.C. and more danger than before. The gang gets drawn in to the word of crime, intrigued, paranormal activity and like always a little mystery. Marie and the gang is better than ever and on another adventure.
This time around Marie has to deal with her powers getting stronger and trying to stay alive and not become one of the spirts that she sees. The gang gets tangled with the mob and political dealings all the while trying to make it another day. This book will definitely take you on an adventure that will have your heart pounding and leave you wanting more.
The growth of the characters from book to book is noticeable and so is the growth in writing. I really enjoyed this book more than the first two. Right now its definitely sitting as my favorite. I can’t wait to get started on book four.

Ms. Robins has definitely done it again. The paranormal world will not be the same again.

In this, the third book of the series, Marie and the SIPS team travel to Washington DC for a job. Once they get there and set up, the woman who hired them reveals the true reason she called them. Her daughter has come up missing.
Working with the local police department, the team discovers that she has been kidnapped because she has uncovered damning evidence about a politician who was considering running for president.
Can the SIPS team find the young woman in time? The action in this series is so good. It is hard to find a good action adventure and with this series, I have. You have paranormal, action and a touch of romance all rolled up into one.
