Describe your product in 3 words.
Reliable. Functional. Fun!
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
We have 3 pets and when we were looking for a pet feeder to fit our needs, we couldn’t see anything that combined functionality with technology and fun. So we thought we would invent something that worked for us. 4 years and endless prototypes, testing, testing and retesting later, we still use our own products every day along with all our customers.
What makes your product special?
We wanted Feed and Go to be accessible to any pet owner and when we researched the features we needed to include in it, we found various shortfalls on other products. We addressed this by building in various unique features such as the webcam, the ability to feed wet/dry food, treats and medication, and then creating a locking mechanism to ensure a pet can never get into or knock over their Feed and Go. Now, with our new iOS and Android apps, we are the smartest pet feeder in the world. Finally, Feed and Go looks so much cooler than anything else!
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
We have been lucky enough to receive a lot of communication from customers that told us that our little product has been really instrumental in their lives. Various people stand out, but this communication was the email that sticks out most of all – “It was such a blessing to me when my dog Bella became ill with pancreatic cancer. It helped give me some piece of mind while I had to be at work, I could check in on her and be sure she was ok. I would recommend this product to anyone who has an animal they love. If I could I would sell the Feed and Go myself! Best money I ever spent, thank you Feed and Go.”

"Feed and Go is sad to say, it's closed it's doors.
We're extremely sad and sorry to say that Feed and Go has closed its doors. We had an amazing time helping thousands of pets eat healthier and on schedule. The time has unfortunately come to close the operation of our web app, and mobile app services. This will mean that unfortunately your Feed and Go's will no longer work as an automated feeder, and will not connect to our servers.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for being a part of our mission and wish you and your pet many happy moments ahead."
So... that sucks. Luckily my existing schedule of feeding is still working but I can't edit the old schedule or use the webcam or activate a new feeding at will. So I am now in possession of a very expensive internet controlled feeder that can't connect to the internet anymore...
All existing customers are in the same situation and I have heard that some are contacting their states attorney general office to see what if any action can be taken since the company filed for dissolution back in July but did not offer any warning and then as of October, their website and app were taken offline. Very poor way to handle this!
So the two things I thought were going to be pretty pointless turned out to be my favorite features. Those are the voice recording and the webcam. We have 2 cats. My sisters cat (Missy) is free fed dry food and since I'm doing the absolute opposite (meal feeding wet food) I was worried that Missy would end up eating Ping's food. I also didn't realize until I got it that it might take a little time for Ping to know to go the feeder when the compartment opens; that's why the recording is awesome. At the beginning she didn't come over when she heard it which was pretty frustrating. I would press the button a bunch of times and on the webcam she would never show up. After awhile she figured it out and I'm able to see her come running into the room. If it didn't have the webcam, one, I wouldn't know if she actually ate, and two, I wouldn't know if Missy ate her food. With the voice recording I can make sure she comes to the feeder before I press the "Feed Now" button. It would be frustrating if it only had the feed now button because then there would be the possibility that Missy would come over and I would just have to watch her eat Ping's food on the webcam.
Onto general stuff. Overall the feeder is very good quality. I don't see this breaking anytime soon. Ping can't get into it since it rotates underneath the cover and in order to open it you have to press two buttons at the same time.
Also, just something to be aware of, when I first got it and set it up I would try to click the call my pet over or feed now button and it would say it wasn't connected to the Internet, even though I just set it up and according to the back of the feeder it was connected. It only happened a few times and now it never happens so don't worry about it if that happens to you because it will probably go away.
And someone said something about wet food getting pushed into the corners. Ping has had a fine time getting all her food, but if this becomes a problem I would suggest getting some silicone cupcake holders and cutting them so they're shallow enough to fit inside the compartment and putting the food in there.
-one thing that really annoys me is that when you click "Call my pet over" a window pops up that says "do you want to call you pet over?" I click yes then another window pops up that says "do you want to open the webcam?" I click yes, even though the webcam was already open. I often times have to click the call my pet over button 5-10 times until Ping will come over, in the beginning it was waaay more. So it's really annoying to go through those windows so many times. I wish there was a feature that I could choose to call her over how many times and at what intervals. So I could choose to call her over say 10 times at 5 second intervals. It would make things so much easier. Sometimes I sit there for 5 minutes just pressing the call my pet over button over and over agin because she either doesn't hear it or maybe she's asleep. It's very frustrating.
I will post any updates if anything changes.
I have bought 3 of these feeders from you. Without an app or a way to program them, you have left me and thousands of customers with useless equipment. It would be appropriate if you developed a free app for customers to at least be able to program via their WiFi to make these feeders work.
I've tried to contact them via their email twice in the last 10 days and have had no response. So, I have to wonder.. are they still in business?
The cherry on top has to be the fact that there is NO customer contact information on their website. I sent an email weeks ago and received no response, and their contact page on their website "cannot be found". I would never recommend someone to purchase this product. It was expensive - I figured it if I purchased one that cost this much it would last, but not even a year old. So disappointed.

I found this out by being woken up by a very hungry cat at 2am! It’s now a functioned useless piece of plastic; such a shame! Have had to buy an alternative feeder. Going to miss the webcam function!
We have 2 X 6 month old kittens and each meal segment tray in the device (which looks like a giant trivial pursuit pie holder) will take 2 X 100g standard wet cat food pouches. That feeds them both all day so it does the job well, allowing me to prep it all late evening and not be late for work by having to feed them in the morning as well as keeping the meals coming through the day. The picture from the camera is good enough to check on them without being any better than low definition and with a new image tajen about once per second it's jerky but functional.
One useful thing to note is that the power cable it came with has a usb end so can be plugged into a power bank battery pack which is great for us because we have no socket near where we've got it set up. Our ravpower power bank (bought separately) cost about 20 pounds here on Amazon and still has half its charge left after 24 hours running this great not so little gadget. Would be even better and get a fifth star if it came with a second inner tray so we could keep swapping over take care of the cleaning of it each night.
Which is the sole purpose of SMART feeders. I invested in this and I LOVE the look of it, I love that it takes care of my pet when I am not around, but the biggest problem I have is that the app and the portal can just stop working and I have no way of knowing whether the cat is going hungry or not.
Once, this summer - the notifications stopped all together and the feeder started going off at random times, It then sorted itself out but the notifications stopped again. No emails were answered and no customer service exists so once you buy this and you can't change the feeding times again - you are ABSOLUTELY STUCK.
For the price you pay for this, there should at least be a rep answering your emails. Or else just go for battery powered feeders and use the rest of the money to buy a decent web cam to keep an eye on your pet.
- It rotates at set times (usually)
- The product looks better than the battery powered ones
- The webcam feature is handy (when the app works)
- The App can go down and you have no control over the feeder or knowledge that the pet is fed
- The portal can go down and again you have no control/knowledge that the pet is fed
- Notifications are random and haven't worked for the last 3 months at least
- The Customer service is shocking - nobody answers EVER. So beware if you order and get a faulty product
- Quite loud when whirring
If you do end up buying this - its a gamble. They need to sort out their business model before acquiring any more business. They are not acting as a responsible business - so if you rely on these guys for your pet not to go hungry, thing twice.
I ONLY regret getting this model for that reason. FeedandGo, disappointing. And by the way I never take time to write reviews, but you should know this before you rely on your pet to get fed by a company who just do not care.
As most pet owners are I'm sure, apprehensive about leaving their beloved animals when going away, I was probably more so than most. After a stressful few months relocating to another country (with 4 cats), I had to go away again. I ordered this from Amazon but the order went missing from the forwarder and I was due to leave in a couple of weeks time. I contacted Alex and he was extremely responsive and helpful in the event that there was any issue with me not having a feeder before I went away. That was the first positive experience.
The second is overall help and support I received in general, I had one small issue but it was very quickly resolved.
The third is the product itself. It's an amazing product - really reliable and easy to use. It's a life saver! The cats were frightened at first (but mine are quite sheltered home cats), but eventually they really got used to it after a few goes and started to gather around it in hope of being fed more dry food. I love the camera and the UI that allows you to control all types of configurations. I had been searching for months for something that could address my really specific needs.
I really hope the company goes from strength to strength, and, that in the future there will be even more products from them, that solve pet owners challenges. They really seem to understand these very well.
I would most certainly give this produce a 5* rating, and the customer service you receive is extremely good, emails answered quickly with questions you may have. This product is well worth the money, take away the worry of feeding your pet, we even fill it up when we are at home so you are never late with a meal. I think the overall benefits outweigh the initial cost. Thank you Feed and Go !!
Could you please kindly help and let us know how our device can be fixed.
One thing I would say tho... We tried linking it up to the wifi using the wps button, but it kept logging back out. I followed the other instructions to do it the other way and it has stayed connect ever since.
BUT - The company that produces this has gone bust, there website is offline and becuase of this the feeder does not work. It needs the cloud server to be connected to work at all. You can't manually do anything with it as it needs the cloud connection to work
Update: company has gone out of businesses, feed no longer works. Not sure why amazon are still selling them?
