Cathryn has may examples that resonate with me. The Turbaned Tomato, Fauja Singh. - "who keeps his engine going" by running in marathons when he was in his 90's. Another story is about older Dragon Boat racers who compete in rowing and "Lift What's Draggin." There are many references at the end of each story that can be researched if you want to learn more about the subject.
Her final essay on the Greek island of Ikaria describes how people can live longer in harmony when they are physically active, socialize, eat healthy diets, take many naps and live in an affable tight-knit community that never, ever gives in.
Feisty Aging is a reminder of the endless possibilities that exist even at the far end of Life. Her subjects are heroes of ingenuity, perserverence and optimism. This is an excellent read and very encouraging.
