This just came in the mail today and I wanted to try it. I've seen some photos of other kinds that weren't that dark, this is a very dark black color. It looks pretty cool, and as far as I can tell, that's the main reason to buy this.
I like squid and I've bought squid jerky from Amazon before, but I didn't really know what the ink was supposed to taste like. I think it mainly just adds an interesting color. It tasted a bit salty, and I've seen the pasta described as salty elsewhere, but I didn't taste any sort of fishy flavor. It was very much like regular spaghetti.
I cooked this al dente and made a white wine sauce and also cooked scallops and medium shrimp. It was very tasty and would be interesting to serve to guests or on a special occasion for the different appearance. It may be worth buying just for the novelty of it. I'm not sure what kind of flavor the jars of squid ink have, or if their flavor is more distinctive, because I haven't tried those;
