The Topsy Turvy Strawberry Planter is the most brilliant new invention ever for growing fresh strawberries. Because the ingenious Topsy Turvy is upside down, gravity naturally causes the water and nutrients to pour directly and freely down from the root to the fruit and each port hold 2 plants for even bigger yield! Simply place any strawberry or herb plant in the Topsy Turvy, add favorite potting soil, hang it up and then water. Sun warms the plant like a greenhouse, the root system explodes and thrives inside the planter. Plus, hanging in the air eliminates any ground fungus, harmful bacteria, cutworm damage - no need for pesticides, digging, weeding and makes berry picking easy. Can also grow herbs like parsley, oregano, basil, rosemary, mint and more.
Top customer reviews
A week after planting, most had sprouted green leaves and I was thinking this was going to be a success.
Less than a week later and about half the plants had died.
Three weeks later and there were just 2 left looking very close to dying out themselves.
I pulled them out and put them in a regular pot then salvaged the soil from the planters and tossed the planters to the curb.
Here is the thing. When I set up these two hanging planters I had ten extra plants left over from my order. I put the extras in a deck box planter with the exact same soil getting the same sunlight and on the same watering schedule. Those ten are thriving and going very strong. Now the two I rescued before giving up on the hanging planter are starting to bounce back. This tells me it is not the plants, soil or sunlight. It could be a water issue. I followed the instructions but its still hard to tell if Im overwatering or underwatering.
When I pulled the dead plants out the soil felt moist and the roots did not appear waterlogged or rotten. There was no sign of fungus or bugs. All that happened was that the green leaves just died out to brown. They also died very quickly. About two to three days and they were completely dead.
I see others have had great success with these so Im holding total condemnation in reserve and giving them two stars but for me these just failed.
Despite the fact I was disappointed in similar planters, after viewing the photo, I was hoping for a better product than I experienced from other vendors.
This item not only was more flimsy and "cheap" but also contained nothing but instructions on acquiring soil, plants, etc.
For the money I expended this item was grossly over-priced and flagrantly misrepresented. I would return the item and demand a refund if it was not so much effort.
I certainly do not recommend this item to anyone who merely wanted a $5 or $6 collapsible plastic bag.
