Basic Jam Prevention
Paper jams are the biggest frustration among shredder users. That's why Fellowes shredders are engineered to take on every job, no matter how tough. The Fellowes 63Cb delivers basic jam prevention with patented Jam Blocker Technology to stop paper jams before they start.
Protect yourself and your family while shredding with SafeSense Technology. The 63Cb features an advanced electronic safety sensor that surrounds the paper entry and automatically disables the shredder when hands touch the paper opening.
The 63Cb also features our Energy Savings System, which is the only system that saves energy while in use - when it matters most. When it comes to shredding, 80 percent of energy consumption comes from in-use activity.* Fellowes' Energy Savings System maximizes shredder energy savings 100 percent of the time--both in and out of use.
• In Use Savings -- performance and power supply efficiency
• Out of Use Savings -- Standby and Sleep Modes
* Average daily consumption based upon derived daily usage values from 3 competitive commercial shredders
And there's more--the Fellowes 63Cb is built to last with solid steel cutters, a powerful motor, and parts that are engineered to outperform our competitors. With its cross-cut capability, it is also tough enough to cut through credit cards, paper clips, and staples while ensuring confidential documents are shredded into unreadable pieces. Additionally, the 63Cb features a 5-gallon pull-out bin for easy, mess-free waste disposal.
Other Things to Consider Before Purchasing a Shredder:
With identity theft concerns at an all-time high, the need to protect personal information is more important than ever. And these days, it's no longer just what you shred that matters-it's how small you shred it. Shredders with a smaller cut size will help keep your information secure long after you dispose of the particles. The smaller the cut size, the higher the security level.
If you shred confidential documents, choose cross-cut or smaller. A smaller cut size also means you will empty the bin less frequently.
Shredder productivity goes beyond mere sheet capacity or speed. When shopping for a shredder, consider the machine's "throughput," or the efficiency with which it can get the job done. Throughput combines the three most critical features that contribute to a shredder's performance:
Sheet Capacity x Speed (feet per minute) x Duty Cycle = Throughput
For example, a shredder that can handle 15 sheets may seem more productive than one with a 14 sheet capacity. After all, it can shred more sheets at a time. But as the example below illustrates, Shredder B is actually two times more productive than Shredder A, due to a faster shred speed and a longer duty cycle.* This means you can get more done at one time, so you can quickly move on with your day.
*Duty Cycle is the amount of time a shredder can run continuously before needing a cool-down period.
Quality and Durability
We understand that a shredder is not just a purchase. It's an investment. That's why Fellowes drives quality assurance to exceed expectations. Prior to launch, all Fellowes shredders are subjected to extensive field and laboratory tests, including our proprietary continuous abuse test and long-term wear. These tests simulate years of abnormally high use to ensure our products perform reliably, even under the most demanding conditions.

Top Customer Reviews
-Heavy duty construction
-Plenty of power
-Large collection bin
-Shred speed is quick
-Jamproof feature doesn't always allow you to feed at rated paper capacity
-The length of the paper shreds could be shorter
My favorite feature of the 63Cb is the fact that it cross-shreds. As far as security is concerned, there is no comparison between traditional unidirectional shredders and a cross-shredder. Reassembling a cross shredded document would be immensely more difficult than aligning the pieces of a document shredded in one direction. I actually feel quite foolish for not seeking out a better solution to strip shredding sooner.
Beyond performing its function as a document destroyer exceptionally well, the 63Cb also has a couple of great safety features that should be a must have for just about anyone. The first of which is the Safesense Technology that stops shredding immediately when skin touches the bezel that surrounds the paper opening. This is huge for home office use when children might gain access to the machine. I don't know what it is about shredders, but they are irresistible to children. I have to add that, while this is a great feature, additional safety measures should be taken if there is a chance that children could access the machine. Touching the bezel only stops the machine if contact is made with skin. Long sleeves could easily prevent this valuable mechanism from working properly.Read more ›
I wanted a really powerful shredder to just shred thick, full envelopes in one quick motion. I spent $149.99 on a Fellowes Powershred 63Cb. I am giving it back.
Now I love my old shredder. My old Fellows PS-60 is faster and quieter and shreds as well or better than the 63Cb with envelopes with one or two pages inside.
My old one does not cross cut, but to really get a great shredder that does that, from what see in the reviews, I will have to spend $500 to $1000 to get a cross cutting shredder that quickly shreds an entire envelope in one shot.
If you want a really fast shredder to shred your piles of junk mail in seconds so that you can spend your time doing other things - look elsewhere!!!

So far so good. Needed a shredder with a small footprint for kitchen. Fairly quiet- it is a shredder, so noise is to be expected. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Kbgan
Smaller than it looks. It works OK, but the motor seems less powerful than the Fellows that it replaced. The old Fellows lasted for 5 years before frying..Published 3 months ago by Kevin M.
