What a bummer. I got this splitter in hopes of sharing one USB power-port between two devices. I understood from the description that only one of the ends could be used for data-transmission, but I thought that both ends would work fine for power. I was wrong.

I have a similar cable that works without issue, so I didn’t give it a second thought before plugging in my devices and walking away. Right away I noticed one of them rebooted and then seemed to freeze. So I pulled out the trusty meter and immediately discovered that the side labeled as “Only for Charging” is actually the worst one for delivering current.

In the video I’m uploading you can see that the “charging” side delivers less than half of the current, and when I tried it with a QC3 charger I saw the message you see in my photo when I connected the phone to that same side. It’s just a cable, it’s not that expensive, but I don’t have time to deal with trying to solve someone else’s engineering problems… And neither should you. Get something else.

I have to admit I failed to read the item description further down the page. So when I received the item and found it would not provide two data USBs, I was disappointed but that is, as I said, on me. I just want to throw a caution out as others already did. If I wanted something that offered one data and one charging port, this would be a really good option.

It's garbage. Bought it to plug my headset and controller into for PS4, didn't work. Tried using it to charge my phone and iPod, didn't work. Tried using it between a flash drive and my computer, didn't work.
So it won't transfer data or charge various products. I wanted to be fair before I wrote this.

I didn't attempt to contact the seller, I figure it's too low cost an item to go through all the hassle so I'll just try to save other people the bother.

I was looking for a USB signal splitter that would allow the connection of two printers to a single computer USB port. This is not that. This device splits the power functions of the USB connector only. As loosely described, it is a charging splitter. It cannot connect two data streams either in or outbound. The description includes the words "power cord" so I should not have expected it to be anything else. It's probably just fine at the limited scope of things it actually does. Not what I needed or wanted, so it just gets one star from me.

I already had one of these but needed another. Had I piggy tailed them together, I would have lost 1 port. So I bought split line adapter and connected the 2 together and freed all the ports. I had to combine the 2 lines so to connect to only 1 port in my computer to free the other one for the power source. Perfect solution!
