With this book we got the Lolah Lace whose work we fell in love with! This book was masterful. Sexy. Well written (thank you)! Emotional. It was a page turner, and here's why:
Selita is a killer. A beautiful trained assassin. Ben is a man running from his past. A man who wants nothing to do with the mess he left.
One day he meets Selita, not as in a casual I meet you on the street type of meeting. He meets her after he's used as collateral to pay his father's debts. They form a bond. It's a mental and physical bond that this author writes superbly. You're drawn in with every interaction between the two. You want them to connect, even though it seems damn near impossible.
As time goes on the debt is paid, but there are repercussions. His heart and whatever she calls hers. Ben returns to his past, but with thoughts of Selita heavy on his mind.
There are twists and turns in this book that are original and makes common sense. A lot of times romance books are above fiction when the action element is added, but this book isn't over the top with that. There are no unreal scenarios where someone is shot and they go flying forty feet in the air after being shot. The author talks about guns in a logical fashion and it makes you see that she researched this book. And I appreciate that.
This book occupies your mind with the love connection between the two characters. I loved that as well.
Well written. This hasn't been her forte, but she's back to what we readers appreciate. A well written keep you on your feet Lolah Lace romance. Thank you, Ms. Lace!
Sexy sexy sexy! Selita and Ben are sexy. They sizzle!
Ben is as alpha as you can get when you're a kidnap victim.
Jealous lovers. Not over the top though.
Selita was intriguing and honest.
Great original story.
Hot sex scenes.
There is a part Two. She says that will be it though. For me, I want more of these characters. You will too, and a Part Two is forgivable as long as there isn't a succession of books like some other IR writers.
Apply your readers curiosity and delve into the best non predictable romantically intriguing read of 2015. Your erotic drama is at hand- take hold and experience a journey you will have trouble leaving just within the pages of this book. The characters and their explosive interactions will leave you holding your breath until we are graced with the finality of their fiery relationship. I need book 2 like yesterday.
Though I have read the very last punctuation mark, Selita and Ben still have a tenacious hold on my consciousness; tap dancing on the periphery of my over sensitized emotional Rolodex; anxiously awaiting their return!
