With that said, the quality of the sound effects as well as just the pure sound output from this is quite solid and offers a very warm, almost pure tube sound while being solid state.
You could use this amp for a small to medium sized show on its own. It's great for practice. After understanding how to navigate the menus, the sky is the limit!

Excellent Beginner/Practice Amp!

I just purchased this amp a few days ago and it is excellent! It has 30 different presets( +20 more that you can use as replacements) that work for any genre of music. All of the presets can be adjusted manually to your liking and saved. I am a beginner and still learning, but this amp is perfect for this purpose and I highly recommend it especially for the price! The amp models range from Fender-Clean to Thrash Metal and is excellent for the beginner so you don't have to spend loads of money for all the effects pedals and can concentrate on learning to play the instrument while exploring and enjoying many different styles of music.

It looks like many reviewers are expecting this amp to sound like 5k$ amp.
It sounds great for what it is - practice amp! Very easy to use and the menu is easy to navigate and adjust presets. Sound quality is very personal, but for me it sounds good! I really like "clear fender sound" preset and "silky solo" preset - I use this two presets all the time! It sounds crystal clear to me. I tried all of the presets and many of them sound very good as well, but I don't think I will use them for guitar lessons.
I am still waiting for pedal, hasn't received it yet.
My amp came with old firmware which was 1.0.10. I have upgraded it to 1.0.14. You can download it from fender website, new firmware fixes issues with foot switch, so in case you will use fender pedal, you will need to flash new firmware
I have also tried recording one song using my Windows 10 PC and it worked really well, I used Audacity app, to for recording. No issues at all.
I tried playing my acoustic guitar as well, after tweaking equalizers on the guitar - it sounded very good! I am sure that special acoustic amp will sound way better, but I cant say the sound was bad and unusable. It was rich enough pleasant to my ears, also one of the presets called "Acoustic SIM", so I tried it with acoustic guitar and it sounded really good :)
So in short, I really like this amp and definitely for me its a keeper. Great value for money.

Great little practice amp for the beginner or pro, has every tone you can need from country to metal and fully customizable. The Fender tone software is very cool. I did find the bass and trebble really dont change much and unit is a tad bassy but all around excellent for $199!
