Feng Shui for the Nursery Hardcover – September 1, 2004

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

All parents want to give their babies the very best start in life. From prenatal vitamins and prenatal exercise to Mozart played in utero, they will do anything to give their baby every advantage even before she or he is born. Naturally, they want this enrichment to continue after their bundle of joy arrives. Feng Shui for the Nursery shows them how. "Few things set the tone of a room more than artwork. In the nursery, choose your artwork wisely. For a perfectly harmonious atmosphere, hang five separate pieces, each representing a different earth element. Try stars for fire, a tree for wood, dolphins or snowmen for water, a rocket for metal, and a bunny for earth." "The more room chi has to circulate around a crib, the healthier and more restorative its energy will be. To ensure good overall health and development, don't hang anything over a crib and never store anything below. "The tips in Feng Shui for the Nursery are neither difficult nor expensive. All it requires is desire to affect positive change and a little creativity. With Feng Shui for the Nursery parents will be well on their way to creating a positive nursery environment for their child. It offers a fresh look at welcoming a new baby in ways that will enhance the harmony of the entire home.

Although I enjoyed this book - I wish I would have checked it out from the libary instead of purchasing it. There are only a few words on each page, and not much information overall.

I just bought this book today and couldn't put it down. It's a quick and fun read. A great gift for any mom-to-be, especially those interested in creating the ultimate space for their newborn. I came away with a lot of good ideas such as how to introduce a variety of natural elements (things that represent water, earth, etc) in the room. I know now too that it it is best to place the crib flush against the wall instead of angled in the corner (where I was thinking of puting it). I also have a new location for the bassenette (no longer by the window). There were good suggestions about use of color, where to create a learning space and much more. This book provided a clear, concise and enjoyable read of practical feng shui rules wtihout being overly dogmatic. Cute illustrations too. Enjoy!
