Pollen plus Seeds

I usually collect my own pollen (the plants grow like crazy weeds near me) but didn't have the time to forage and figured this would be a good substitute. There was definitely noticeable fragrance when I opened the tin, but I was surprised to see so many seeds. Zooming now into the photo, I can see that the sample above does show that, so it's on me for assuming this would be pollen only. The color and flavor are not quite as strong as I've gotten in other, more expensive brands, but overall, good for the price.

I can't comment on the quality of the spice because I am unable to open the tin. I have spent lots of frustrating time struggling with grippy things, knives, broken fingernails and no matter what I do I can't get it open! I will be contacting the seller for a refund or replacement.

I saw this used on TV by a famous chef and I had to have some because I LOVE FENNEL. I use a lot of fennel in my cooking: whole fennel seed and ground fennel and now FENNEL POLLEN. The tin was a little tricky to open at first, but I figured out the easiest way to get in was to push up one side, then the other, and so on - until the lid comes off. Then I immediately transferred it to a spice jar...

Great addition to my spice mixes. Great on it's own with poultry and pork! I never tell guests what's on their food we cook for them, and it's been wonderful to watch them guess at what the secret ingredient is and to rave about it's taste. A little goes a long way!! Oh, and other's are right, this was nearly impossible to open. Please be very careful. I ended up using a small tool and transferring it to a small mason jar.

Good, but fix the crazy lid!

Great stuff: Just have to learn how to remove lid. Gently tug upward, it will loosen and then pop off with a light twist. No instruments needed. Do not try to screw if off.Read more
