7'6'light. Moderate action 2=8 lb line.
Got it yesterday, took it trout fishing at Lewiston Lake today. It is a flowing body of water with very strong trout, tasty too. I was looking for a few for the table. Landed 4, lost 3, missed at least 6 more, in about 3 hours. Nice afternoon.
I paired this up with a Piscifun Carbon X 3000. They look great together, black on black, and weigh next to nothing. 13.1 oz filled with .18mm braided main line. It is a whisper.
This is my second HMG. I love the Alien handle, It is very comfortable both casting and fighting, as well as providing direct contact with the blank. It is very secure, with double lock downs.
Anyway, this has the kind of power to handle a very nice fish, one weighed 3 lbs and I'd be comfortable with a much larger fish, yet handle the very light leaders needed in this crystal clear water, the length of the rod being a great shock absorber, at the same time as it being sensitive enough to feel the bottom and the bite when drifting a crawler or egg pattern in a riffle.
I loved fishing with this rod.
This won't be my last HMG and that really says what I want to say about it. It's a dandy.
