I did give this rod 5 stars, but now after seeing the eyes of the rod are in the wrong order I change my rating. They messed up 2 of the eyes so now the 3rd eye form the tip is shorter and smaller then the 2nd eye in, looks goofy my cuz weird wear and line tension on the rod blank
The 3 I do have have been incredible.
Hence the reason for the fourth one👍🏽
I have Fen rods passed down to me from my father, and they are absolutely amazing.
I expect the same of these.
I'm primarily a Trout fisherman.
And I've landed 6-10 lb Rainbows with my Eagle rods, 4lb main line and 2lb leader ...like butter
Thank you Fen👍🏽👍🏽
I have the 6' light action two piece I bought for multi species angling in the creeks and streams of the ozark mountains.
This rod is sensitive, but had enough backbone to wrangle in a 7lb small mouth bass with an okuma ceymar c-10 reel.
The negative reviews being left seem to mostly come from people who are used to using cheaper fiberglass rods and have stepped up to graphite. This price point makes it a logical step up from an ugly stick or other big box store 30 dollar combo.
Here's the deal guys, with graphite your're trading sensitivity for overall toughness. If you get a graphite rod, you're not going to be able to yank the heck out of it trying to retrieve a tangled lure from a tree branch, it will break. if you get hung up, cut your line, wrap it around a stick or something you can get both hands on and pull and tug your heart out to try and retrieve your lure. Don't use the rod inappropriately and it won't break, it's a fishing rod, not a crowbar. Lastly, I've been a St. Croix guy for 10 years, they are great rods, but as a matter of preference, I prefer the handle on these Fenwicks. The cork is fantastic, I don't know how they do it at this price.
