Wanted to update my review about 11 months later and this bag has held up amazingly, everything is still in tack and working great for us, I would definitely recommend this bag.
First: It's huge. Can fit anything that went into our previous "super bag" into here and organized more effectively.
Second: Organizationally it's awesome. Has compartments for all the crap you need.
Third: Durable. Doesn't show any wear to it after a year and use almost every day.
Fourth: Fits 2 MacBook pros in it with all the kid stuff so we can use it as a carry on for planes.
I don't write a ton of reviews, but as a dad, I was looking for someone to write this review. It's literally "the bag" that we use as our go-to now for anytime we step out of the house and will probably buy another one when this one finally smells too much like rotten milk :)
I can’t recommend you buy this unless you can afford to buy a $50 bag every six months to replace it.
To me the best diaper backpack in terma of space is by far the fisherprice. But fisher price didn't last long. The fabric is not as sturdy as this one is neither is it as nice looking. It has pockets for everyting. And even as this one is not as spacious as the fisherprice. It has enough space to carry clothes for changing, pjs por the day, and a blanket. And in the fron pocket as you can see I carry 6 to 8 diapers, a small towel, some extra formula and the wipes. Love the way I can have at easy acces the bottle and the formula. I carry it in the floor of the back seat in the car an is allways accesible. I also love the way the bag stands by itself and is not snuggy. It is a big bulky at first sight but then you get used to it and look nice wearing it. It doesn't look like a diaper bag. Its more stylish.
The *number* of pockets and dividers is great, but everything is just a little too small, including the bag itself.
The outside pockets don't expand, so items that aren't totally flat don't really fit. And some of the inner dividers are proportioned more closely for pens and phones than bundles of diapers and spare bottles. This is especially frustrating when trying to find an item at the bottom of one of the larger main pockets-- you're elbow deep in dividers, and *still* can't see what you're doing or find what you need because the bag simply doesn't open wide enough to let any light in.
Honestly, I just wanted everything to be 20% bigger. Not huge, but big enough so that I could comfortably fit everything and not have it all so tightly packed so I could rummage around easily.
And I'm mystified as to why the designers opted for a floppy handle on top instead of something that's easy to grab, and why they'd make it a divided "snap together" briefcase style handle instead of a single handhold. If you snap the two halves together, you then have to UN-snap them to get into the bag. And if you don't, the leather wrap slaps you in the back of the head every time you lean over. (Not exactly rare when raising small children.)
The adjustment buckles on the shoulder straps were in the perfect location to jam into my armpits. I've been wearing backpacks since I was a kid, and this is the only pack that's ever done that to me.
The little upright pocket on the outside is the perfect size for a regular-sized iPhone. But if you have anything bigger, it won't fit. (Maybe it's useful for something else you need quick access to? Dunno.)
