Kombucha Brewers review. It's good.

Auto siphons are the best and are super easy to use. I use this siphon for my kombucha brewing and It's the same siphon that I see all the other kombucha companies selling on their sites (like Kombucha Brooklyn). It works well and It's pretty easy to clean. Make sure you order some tubing along with it because this does not come with tubing. I would say that this particular size is meant for large, multi-gallon containers and is a bit overkill for 1 gallon or smaller.

If you need to siphon beer or kombucha this is a great tool to have...much better than a racking cane with one slight issue. This product is not very durable being it is made of plastic. It can crack pretty easily. It seems that I buy one of these every other year. I wish they would make a metal one that was more durable. I'd spend the extra $$ if I only had to buy one more for the rest of my life.

Great compared to racking cane

I bought this to replace the racking cane that came with my homebrew kit. I love this thing! The only reason i dont give it 5 stars is because the small check valve in the bottom has come out twice on me. Once when i first got it and I was messing around with it, i pulled too fast and the suction pulled the plastic clips free. The second time i dropped it and it popped out. It can be fixed, but its tricky getting something long enough to properly align the valve and press it back into place.

Pros:
I can siphon my brew without any help.
Creates enough suction to push all the air out of the line and thus the turbulence that leads to adding oxygen during transfer
easy clean, simply siphon cleaner/sanitizer through it

Cons:
Plastic check valve can easily be popped out and is tough to reinstall

Good product but did not fit

I already had an auto siphon exactly like this but thought this one was smaller when I ordered it to use with my Vinbrite wine filter system. Regrettably, the auto siphon is the same size as the filter hose and thus does not fit. Because return shipping would probably be more than what I paid for the siphon, I will save it for a backup. I wish I could find one a size smaller that would fit the Vinbrite Filter.

Cleans easily, works reliably. One push and the homebrew/wine/mead is flowing. Didn't come with tubing though. That would have been cool. Title was sufficient, but they require a 20 word review.

MUCH BETTER THAN MANUAL SIPHON!!! I should have purchased this from the very beginning! 1-2 pumps got the wort flowing from my fermenting bucket to the carboy and was super easy to use and clean. A definite must have for any home brewer. Be careful with the end of the connection where your tubing goes, but it's not any more fragile than a manual siphon/racking cane.

Slowest and most frustrating autosiphon I've used.

Slowest autosiphon I've ever dealt with. I'm not positive if it's the length of the tubing I'm using, which is only about three feet(I ran out of tubing) but the diameter of this siphon is smaller than the siphon I was using before, which makes this one go sooo slow. I have to wait for literally 5-6 minutes just holding this siphon for ever 5 gallon batch I rack. I've also had to re-pump the siphon nearly every time ive used it, which kicks up the lees a little bit, defeating the purpose of racking.

I'm going to consider this a waste of my money and time and go buy the siphon I was using before.

Nicely made, nicely packaged but...

The 5 point font instructions on a little bitty rectangle of glossy paper is beyond absurd. You should plan on doing a web search to find some general instructions that are actually readable while lying on the counter as you process your wort.
