This time we focus on Calev, an equally strong character protagonist.
With his intended, Kinneret, at home ill, and that fact unknown to him, he travels to a distance land to procure a treaty needed by his own lands.
He is unexpectedly mugged and robbed of his important document and signal leading to being unbelieved by the Kyros, the ruler. Consequently he is jailed as is, Kinneret's sister, Avi who came after him because of his intendeds illness.
This all plays out between switching character story lines back and forth. It has so much heart break and so much action it is difficult to stop reading.
It's a wonderful addition to an already wonderful series. It's a must read for all fantasy fans!
I only wish I could give these stories real justice with my words.
I can't wait till the next book comes out!
I voluntarily reviewed an arc from the author.
I read this in one sitting, gobbling it up. It is a good sequel to the first book of the series, "Waters of Salt and Sin."
