I don't even know what to say or how to express my emotions after finishing this book and knowing it's the end of the series. The culmination of this story and the evolution of MacKayla Lane was everything I could have hoped for. I cried at more than one part and the early parts of thisbook had me so stressed. God how I wish Jericho Barrons was a real man! I can only hope that someday we might get more if these characters. I was left with many questions and I NEED more of Ryodan. Please KMM don't let this be the end!

I just finished reading Feversong. It wasn't what I expected it to be. It was better. What an outstanding culmination of an extraordinary series. It was certainly an emotional rollercoaster ride, and I'm still processing how I feel. Few books have left me this emotionally drained, yet satisfied that the story has a true ending which is also a new beginning. As much as I've loved all of the books, I'm at peace with this resolution. I'm just sad that it's over.

I just finished Feversong and dare I say it has me in a state of shock. I started reading this series years ago and would countdown the minutes till I could get the latest novel, waiting years for new stories and I can honestly say it was worth the wait. Some of the books in the series were amazing, some frustrated me and some I thought were just a teaser and leaving me wanting more. That being said I, like all readers, chose my favorite characters and insisted they act accordingly, follow my plan and expectations....of course like real life, not everything happens the way you want. I can look back and see things that frustrated me and understand why they went the way they did. I will admit there were a few chapters where I wanted to rush through and get to the good stuff but I stepped back and paced myself and I'm so glad I did. I am loving just about everything in this book , I laughed, I was angry, frustrated and I cried like a baby. You won't find all your answers in this book but "It aint over 'til it's over"

When I first picked up Iced and read through it, I devoured it in nearly one sitting. It was something different, especially to listen to the tale from a smart mouthed teen who had seen more than she really should have in life. Dani was fierce and fearless, a force to be reckoned with for sure. As the novels progress, the story become more watered downe and began to fill itself with inner monologues that conveyed the inner thoughts of the characters. But then you began to feel yourself drowning with all the thoughts, sensations, feelings. It become a little overbearing, especially when Mac came back into the picture. I had really hoped that the series would focus on Dani but it took several sharp twists and turns at breakneck speed and the aftermath was kind of unpleasant. KMM is a fantastic author and she has proved this many times over with her previous writings.

*** Spoiler Alert ***

Now we fast forward to this latest and last entry in the series (supposedly, but that ending left me filled with some doubt). I found myself wanting MORE. The book is comprised of 541 pages (including the glossary at the end) but I don't mean I wanted more pages. I mean that I wanted MORE from the characters.
Mac/the Sinsar Dubh's inner monologues got stale very fast. I found myself skimming a lot of the pages to get to points of action or a point where the story would start to progress again. It felt so stale and it hurt to have to skip parts because I just couldn't keep reading, I am. I AM. Maim, kill, repeat. I feel. I FEEL. I get it. The Sinsar Dubh is a very powerful, malevolent essence that is trapped within a character that should have probably stayed out of this series. When I say series, I mean through Dani's novels.
Dancer. Dancer was perfect for Dani.

My hero ladies and gents! KMM is hands down my favorite author and this book is amazing! I love getting lost in her words and have bought at least a dozen Darkfever books to give to friends, family, and Co workers and have yet found anyone that did not fall in love with this series.

Ok folks, spoilers below.

I've been an avid fever fan from the start, so this review is a little hard for me to write. First of all, it all seemed too easy, I honestly feel like KMM has relied on the cliffhanger-sequel endings so much throughout this series that it was hard for her to really wrap everything up in a suitably believable manner. The characters all seemed sort of flat, with the exception of Dani, whose backstory I did enjoy. The last few pages I re read a few times and still don't have clarity on what the heck actually happened. Barrons is the unseelie king? Or could be? And all of the unseelie are gone except Cruce? The king...quits?
I just....Meh. I don't know. Honestly in the middle I was really hoping that the black holes would just swallow the world. I still think think that would have been better than what happened. It just seemed flat and rushed at the end, I was hoping for a lot more loose ends to be tied up. But I guess that in a way, it's still a cliffhanger in that KMM left herself plenty of room for sequels, or not.
Mac and Barrons' relationship waffling throughout the book was annoying. Christian's character was painfully one-dimensional, and I fail to see why the previous books emphasized the importance of Kat training with one of the Nine and Dageus' transformation only to interject that Kat comes back muscle-y and Dageus gets to go home to his family because the world is ending. I honestly got irritated that I invested interest in those two side stories just for an anticlimactic "Kat's different now and Christian demands to take Dageus home".
My biggest beef was the fact that Mac essentially spent no time with Alina after discovering it was truly her sister.
