Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue & Chronic Illness; Navigating through the confusion & deception, isolating the truly effective, science-based treatments: Recover Your Health and Take Back Your Life Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 22 ratings

Those who are suffering from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or numerous other Chronic Illnesses are facing some major problems that leave them at a serious disadvantage.

• Most doctors don’t know much about these illnesses and thus are not good at diagnosing them correctly and are very rarely equipped to treat them properly.
• The underlying causes of these illnesses are mostly unknown.
• The current conventional treatments consist of prescribing one or more of several medications that are really just combinations of pain-killers, nerve and muscle relaxants and antidepressants. These only serve to mask the symptoms.
• The marketing and promotion of these drugs and other “treatments” give false and misleading information about what is causing your pain. They are construed to sell you something and make a profit rather than to improve your condition.
• You can waste tons of your time and hard earned money getting tests that show nothing, seeing doctors that don’t help, reading books that don’t provide solutions, following protocols that don’t cure you and taking drugs or supplements that don’t improve your condition.

The Solution is to have an advocate who has already been through it to help direct you to the best resources and information that can help you to actually recover – recover your health and recover your life.

I spent more than 15 years dedicatedly working on how to deal with my pain and other debilitating symptoms and recover my health. I have traveled thousands of miles to clinics and seen specialists that treat these chronic illnesses. I’ve followed numerous treatment protocols. I’ve taken every imaginable supplement and many different drugs. I’ve read pretty much every book I could find on the subject. Among the vast amounts of over-hyped promotion I was able to find little gems and pearls of wisdom that were very helpful.

This book gives a good description of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lyme Disease, Lupus and other co-existing conditions that can often accompany these illnesses so you can better understand the symptoms.

This book is a culmination of all my years of work with which I can help others who are suffering. It covers:
• how to relieve pain and pain management
• how to lessen stress
• how to improve sleep
• how to avoid flare-ups
• diets to follow and important supplements to take
• information about hormones and hormonal changes
• underlying causes of your symptoms
• medications and drug protocols
• treatments with natural remedies
• travel tips and more.

I want to help you navigate your way to health. There are solutions out there. There might not be one magic pill or a one-shot cure. But I have found very specific things that help, that make things better. And enough things making it better add up to feeling a LOT better.

There are very definite underlying causes and these can be addressed for lasting improvement and recovery. There are all natural treatments that actually do work, so you don't have to be sentenced to a life of taking drugs to cover up the pain and other symptoms. You can get well!

I am healthy and happy today. I am in a good place. I sleep well, I work, I cook and clean and I am living a good life. It isn’t perfect. Sometimes I have rough days. But I never expected perfect. I expected to get my life back. And that I did. Now I am doing all I can to help you get yours back too.

I think that particularly people who are suffering, people who are in pain, shouldn’t have to spend years and ungodly amounts of money to try and feel better. But that seems to be the deal here.

So I decided, THAT’S IT! I am now in a position where I can really and truly help others like me. So I have compiled a summary of everything that I have found that has helped to improve my quality of life. Now I can help others who are suffering. It’s all in my new book. It's concise and easy to read and it is here for you.

About the Author

Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2000 at the Mayo Clinic, following many years of self abuse - smoking, excessive caffeine, poor and erratic sleep, combined with lots of stress - Debbie embarked on extensive research, study and visits to clinics to better understand her condition and to recover her health. After years of trials, she mapped her own way to a recovery of her health. Considering all it took for her to find the answers to proper treatment and a recovery of her health, Debbie decided to write a series of books to make it easy for others to understand what is most important about health and to help those who are suffering with chronic illness. She founded HealthKick as a means of simplifying healthy living information and making it as easy as possible to eat and live using healthier habits. She wrote the book, "HealthKick, Easy Healthy Living Hacks" to accomplish this. The HealthKick website and blog www.HealthKick.info is also packed full of information, with more added almost everyday. Debbie also founded Fibro-Free, www.FibromyalgiaFree.org to provide helpful information to those suffering from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or Chronic Illness. Her book, "FIBROMYALGIA, Chronic Fatigue and Chronic Illness; Navigating through the confusion and lies and uncovering the real solutions to recover your health" is a summary of the best information and treatments to be able to recover from these debilitating syndromes and diseases. Her next book, "Is Sugar Killing Me?, The Healthy Alternatives", focuses more on the dangers of sugar consumption as a leading cause of obesity and thus obesity related diseases and disabilities. Here she investigates alternatives to sugar, exposing the dangers of artificial sweeteners and explaining the best options in natural sweeteners. She then founded Sin Free Desserts - www.sinfreedesserts.com - introducing a line of desserts that are: free of sugar, free of any artificial sweeteners, wheat and gluten free, additives and preservatives free, low in carbs, high in protein, high in fiber and contain good omega 3 oils. In other words, ways to indulge that are actually good for you. While her loves are her husband, her dogs and her home and the Texas Hill Country, her passion is helping others, which she works at through her writing.

First, I think it is only fair to disclose that I am the author's oldest brother. Clearly, my opinion is biased because of my relationship to Debbie. Quite frankly, when Debbie asked me to read the book and write a review, I was reluctant. I was afraid that despite what I really thought about the book, it would be my fraternal duty to write a good review. Well, my fear was quickly dispelled within the first few pages of the book. This is a well-researched, informative book that I can recommend with complete sincerity.

I have a second disclosure to make. I have never suffered from fibromyalgia or any other chronic illness discussed in the book. Despite that, I found the book to be an interesting and fast read. My biggest takeaway from the book is, I now have a deeper understanding of the pain and suffering that my sister went through in dealing with her chronic illness. If you have a loved one or good friend that suffers from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome, you owe it to them to read this book. Only then can you begin to comprehend the pain and misery they are enduring.

The book also discusses a smorgasbord of supplements, therapies and regimens that showed promise in Debbie's own treatment of fibromyalgia. She has taken a huge volume of information and misinformation on the subject, and distilled it down to the essential items that actually work. I have seen firsthand the difference that some of these regimens have made in Debbie's life. If you suffer from fibro or other chronic illnesses, I am confident this book will help you to find the right combination of treatments and professional help that will lead to the relief my sister has experienced.

This book was above and beyond what I expected. Although I do not have any auto-immune disease, I do have family and friends with chronic health conditions that I wanted to help. This book gave me lots of insight as I followed Debbie's journey to cure herself of fibromyalgia and other ailments. The biggest thing I got from the book is that she never gave up hope and persisted in finding the answers to cure her ailments. She found medical and natural healing methods that worked for her, bringing these together and explaining in detail the doctors, clinics, natural healers, vitamins, etc. She also exposed the false information that is so rampant in the health field and how this in itself causes more damage to the body. I do recommend this book. It is easy to read and interesting to follow.

I have know the author for many years, but was not aware of her condition. The book has a very honest and powerful revelation about the author's health condition. It takes lots of courage to do it and it was delivered in the most humble and straight forward manner.
The solutions Debbie brings are very powerful as well, but the most important is the information and light she sheds about this condition that made the book stand out. I am looking forward to her other books. I definitely recommend to read it. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of the world.

This book is only common sense information. There is considerably more comprehensive Fibro, Chronic Fatigue, IBS, etc. on Piinterest. The type is huge, seemingly to make it seem full of helpful information.

I've had Fibro most all the syndromes, many not mentioned for 15 years. I've been bed-ridden the last year and on Social Security Disability for 10 years.

Excuse any errors in spelling or grammar as I have severe Fibro fog. I started all this mess at age 38

The author is not a doctor and says so in the book. This is a compilation of her personal experiences and findings that have helped her with Fibromyalgia. I did find the book very informative, easy to read and understand and very helpful. I definitely recommend it.

Probably the best account of a woman afflicted with a health problem still mysterious to the medical profession. She tells about her own research, trials and errors and what works for her. It is written in a simple but precise way. It should be a guide to anyone wanting to become their own health advocate.
