Incredibly lightweight. Perfect for traveling. It’s not particularly wide in terms of diameter, though, so it’s for personal use. It’s also a little flimsy; I could break it if I’m not careful when opening and closing. Nonetheless, the ultralight weight and the reasonable price make this my favorite umbrella for every day.

I live in Seattle and grew up in Washington, we don't use umbrellas...However, I recently began taking the bus daily and because the rain can be unpredictable decided to get a small travel umbrella to carry with me. This is incredibly small as far as umbrellas go which makes it great to have on hand for emergencies, I leave it in the water bottle pouch of my backpack and don't even notice it. I've only had it for about a month and haven't used it in the rain yet so can't comment on that but just the size and low cost makes it a great purchase, I'm also still very reluctant to use an umbrella at all so it could be a while before it is really tested. I did open it and it seemed to open fairly easy, despite my confusion on how to lock it (again not using an umbrella in so long). If you frequently use an umbrella you may want something larger for more protection from the rain and sun but I think this is great for casual users that are looking for a travel size.

They are not large enough to share, which is the reason we got one for each of us. It's a fairly cheap umbrella that works in a pinch. Construction is somewhat suspect: I've had the umbrella get caught on its own internal metallic expanding frame more than a few times. In addition, the fabric that they used to line the outside of the umbrella does not inspire confidence. I suspect that the first true windy day I come across will result in the umbrella being turned upside down, rendering it useless.

That being said, it folds to a very compact size. I keep in in my backpack at all times for unsuspecting rainy days and I barely notice that it's there. If you're looking for a cheap umbrella that folds super compact and you don't plan to use it frequently, this is a decent purchase.

IT MAY BE ready to take a windy downpour, but I have had a LOT of mini umbrellas and very few of them are really sturdy. If this one passes my test, I will let you know
