Dusty visits the Field of Dreams from her grandpa's stories. It is a place where you plant your `seeds of success'. When Dusty arrives, she meets a gopher named Gus. Dusty and Gus are disappointed to find the field is in ruins. Gus tells Dusty that nothing magical happens here anymore but Dusty refuses to accept that. They both decide to bring back the Field of Dreams. Dusty and Gus realize that for dreams to come true they have to believe their dreams are possible and work to make them happen.
I had a heart-warming discussion with my children after reading Field of Dreams. We discussed their dreams and how important it is to believe in yourself. I explained that with determination and hard work you can make your dreams come true. An important lesson for children and adults.
As with any children's book, illustrations are just as important as the text. The illustrations in Field of Dreams are beautiful! Field of Dreams is a book we will read again and again.
