It provided a personal and intimate story about falling in love with Italy, the draw of living in Italy and the natural stress that comes from thinking about moving there from the US...leaving a comfortable life and job, the uncertainty of language and culture, etc. The book walks through one persons and one couples process of making the move and the pleasures and complications of settling into one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This isn't a "how to" book. It felt more to me like a book about the passion, courage, and soul required to trust one's instincts and live a live of one's dreams.
Ms. Machotka paints a captivating intimate portrait of a fascinating culture in a timeless and romantic setting with all the warmth and charm of the "pink-orange Umbrian field stones". A must read for all lovers of adventure travel!
