About the Author

Julie Mulhern, the USA Today bestselling author of the Country Club Murders series, is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie. In addition to mysteries, Julie writes historical, romantic suspense. Her first romance, A Haunting Desire, was a 2014 Golden Heart finalist.

Renée Chambliss got her start in audiobook narration in 2009 when she began podcasting her own writing. Soon after, other writers and audio fiction producers began to ask her to record for them, and that led to professional audiobook narration. She absolutely loves transforming the written word into audio and feels privileged to be able to spend so much of her time telling stories.

Julie Mulhern is the USA Today bestselling author of The Country Club Murders and the Poppy Fields Adventures.

She is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie. She spends her spare time whipping up gourmet meals for her family, working out at the gym and finding new ways to keep her house spotlessly clean--and she's got an active imagination. Truth is--she's an expert at calling for take-out, she grumbles about walking the dog and the dust bunnies under the bed have grown into dust lions.

Action, adventure, mystery, and humor are the things Julie loves when she's reading. She loves them even more when she's writing!

Julie Mulhern has done it again: written another chapter of the Poppy Fields series that is as fresh and delightful as the first. Poppy grows closer to Thor, not-so-dead daddy dearest is there in a pinch and Consuela is so fun.

Great story, very bad editing. I have now read all of the Field’s Guide and Country Club books and this is an issue in all of Julie Mulhern’s books. Wrong names, wrong words, duplicated passages. I don’t know if this is just an issue with the kindle editions or not. I love her characters and the plots are fun and fast paced. But OMG, get a better proof reader!!

Julie Mulhern is very talented. I have enjoyed every one of her books and highly recommend them. The Fields series is suspenseful, humorous and, in my opinion, a must-read! The more books you read the more you get to know the characters and you become invested in them. I feel like I really know them, although I don't think I want Poppy and Mark moving in next door. Trouble follows them wherever they go, haha!

This is one of my favorite series. Yes, it’s unbelievable but in a way that makes it fun somehow…that’s a big part of the charm! You just can’t help but love Poppy!

This book had a great story but I was distracted by the mistakes, spelling errors, repeating adjectives, and even full scenes repeated that I had a hard time getting through it. I almost felt like I was reading a work in progress draft rather than an edited, finished book. I also missed the supporting characters that have shown up in the previous books and hope they’ll be back in the next one.

This is the eighth book in the Poppy Fields Adventure series and it still continues to be a hoot to read. If you enjoy Stephanie Plum, I think you’ll enjoy this series. This time Poppy and Mark, aka Thor, are trying to enjoy their vacation time on Yurgi’s island. This was after they stopped in Greece to pick up a package for her new step father. Was that a big mistake. Now they’re trying to stay alive as well as chase the people who are after what’s inside that box. Because it can change the world as we know it if it gets into the wrong hands. So it’s up to her, Mark, her dad and of course Consuela to recover the contents. Julie Mulhern does a great job of describing the location, people and Poppy’s shopping habit for couture clothes, including purses. I hated to put it down because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed as well as got concerned for Poppy and her crew. Definitely looking forward to more adventures, or is it misadventures? Can’t wait.

This series shouldn’t work. It’s outlandish, thinly plotted, and only vaguely grounded in any type of reality. And as another reviewer has said, this particular entry is in dire(and I do mean dire) need of proofreading throughout. But it’s great fun!! Poppy and her cohorts are a kick, the writing is breezy, and the locations make your mouth water. And I often find myself laughing out loud at Poppy’s quips and deadpan reactions to what in other books would be dire circumstances. She seems to be having a great time even when bullets are flying. Kudos to the author for creating such an engaging character. I shouldn’t like the books but I really do and this latest one is a worthy entry in the series. Start at the beginning of the series to avoid confusion, work your way through the books, and enjoy the many adventures of Poppy and her friends. Also, a quick afternoon read.

A great answer the the question of the contents of the box. I loved reading about Poppy, Consuela and Thor’s adventures. The only downside is that there were some minor plot holes. For example, half of the contents is seemingly forgotten, with no answer as to what happens with it. However, these minor issues do not take away any enjoyment of the book. I cannot wait to find out what happens next!
