About the Author

Julie Mulhern is the USA Today bestselling author of the Country Club Murders series. She is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie. She spends her spare time whipping up gourmet meals for her family, working out at the gym, and finding new ways to keep her house spotlessly clean-and she's got an active imagination. Truth is, she's an expert at calling for take-out, she grumbles about walking the dog, and the dust bunnies under the bed have grown into dust lions. In addition to mysteries, Julie writes historical, romantic suspense. Her first romance, A Haunting Desire, was a finalist in the 2014 Golden HeartÂ(R) contest.

Renée Chambliss got her start in audiobook narration in 2009 when she began podcasting her own writing. Soon after, other writers and audio fiction producers began to ask her to record for them, and that led to professional audiobook narration. She absolutely loves transforming the written word into audio and feels privileged to be able to spend so much of her time telling stories.

There are a handful of authors who can keep a series fresh and entertaining with every book, as well as allowing the characters to grow. Julie Mulhern is one of those authors with this series. Poppy learns and grows, trusts more and opens her heart more with each book. The twists and turns are fresh every time, and this book, like the others, left me eager for the next one. Great job, Julie Mulhern!.

Loved these books. Both of her series! I could not stop reading. Fun characters, great inner dialogue and such fun with the personification (?) of the dog in each series! Can’t wait for the next ones. Now I’m going to read her older books.

I just love Poppy and Mark. I'm really hoping this series continues for a long time. It is exciting and I love all the different locales. We get more of a look into Poppys upbringing. Sad so many people raised Poppy and cared more for her than her actual parents. Gunter is the best. Looking forward to next book. The box situation at the end, made me frustrated. Only complaint. This book deals with heavier topic than other books on the series. Her dog Consuala deserves all the things. Story is told from FMC POV. The romance between Poppy and Mark progresses, finally. They kept putting getting to kniw each other better off until after trouble was resolved, but trouble kept coming. I like these books because they focus on the mysteries and interpersonal relationships. Romance is there, but not focus. The relationship is consummated this book. It's not only closed door, its off page and only vaguely hinted at. So no worries if that isn't your thing. If I wanted more, I'd read a different series. I like how the author pulls you in and you end up cheering for this merry band of deadly misfits. Highly recommend.

Fields' Guide to Smuggling by Julie Mulhern is so much fun and still heart touching! Poppy's heart is one of the things besides the humor that makes this series so special but she is able to be tough when she has to, especially in defending others. Like all the books in the Poppy Fields Adventures series, the pace in Fields' Guide to Smuggling is breathtaking, but I love the few slower moments just as much as the fast action. Together they show us who Poppy really is and faster ones are more likely to offer those hilarious incidences that keep the books from being too intense.
My heart bled for the girls that Poppy, Mark, and Dora were helping and we all know that human trafficking, especially of young girls, is a real thing. Poppy's reaction to her encounters was just right. The only problem with getting a new Poppy Fields book, or any book my Julie Mulhern, is that I can barely wait for the next one!

This is the seventh book in the Poppy Fields Adventure series and it still continues to be a hoot to read. If you enjoy Stephanie Plum, I think you’ll enjoy this series. This time Poppy is trying to vacation with Thor, I mean Mark Stone, on an island that Yurgi bought for her mom Chariss. But first they have to pick up a package for Yurgi. Then, while on the island, a boat lands on the shore within young gals on it. They are being trafficked. Poppy wants to help save them as the Russians are coming for them. Julie Mulhern does a great job of describing the location, people and Poppy’s couture, including purses. I hated to put it down because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed, got worried and even teared up a bit for Poppy and her crew. Definitely looking forward to more adventures, or is it misadventures? Can’t wait.

I just finished this book and am thinking of going in to mourning until the next book in the series comes out. I LOVED it. Sad when one thinks about sex trafficking young girls is a reality in this world. The author used it well to enlighten folks who don't know anything or little about it.

I love little Consuela. She is such a trip, getting into mischief and helping Poppy and Thor when the chips are down. I'm a cat person or I might think about getting a little dog like Consuela. My last cat passed away recently. She was very territorial, so I don't think she and Consuela would have gotten along or been willing to concede any of their territory to each other.

Other than the above, I can only say that the reader is in for a wild ride with Poppy, Thor and Consuela, and if you like adventure with a lot of edge of the seat danger, you are in for a treat. If I could give more than 5 stars for this series, I would.

I LOVE Thor (Mark) and Poppy together). Jake had his chance and ruined it, so he doesn't get a second chance no matter how much he would like one.

I would love to see this series made into movies of the month or a summer TV series. I think it would do well.

Can’t believe this is book 7 and Poppy and Mark Stone aka Thor are to be on a Greek Island relaxing and just spending well deserved time together. Life should be calm…not in Poppy’s world which now includes Russian mobsters, mysterious packages and let’s not forget car chases and ducking bullets just a relaxing day in Poppy’s world. Book 8 can’t come fast enough there will be a lot to read. Once again Ms. Mulhern has captured the reader with mystery and humor and leaves you wanting more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gave Me the Yips!
Reviewed in Canada on April 30, 2021
Have usually enjoyed Julie Mulhern...good plots...humour..romance. Was disappointed in parts of this this book. First it was too short... I found the "yips" and ensuing conversations went on a little too much. REALLY?!! Consuela's part in the plot was way overdone... a little too cutesy and beyond belief. Didn't enjoy how the book ended with the "package" still unopened and now we're supposed to wait for the next installment. The suspense is not killing me!
