BAD: They and definitely not water/weather proof… two large mounting holes in back of the panels go direct to the wires and solder joints. Water will get in and likely pop the panel open when the water freezes. The housing is thin plastic that snaps together, and some have a slight bow causing them to spread open so not sure how will hold up to direct sun and harsh weather. The voltage from all 5 panels, measured one after the next in the same sunlight, varied by 0.8V. All were above 6V but one just barely. This may change in more /less sunlight but gives a general idea of what to expect. NO BLOCKING DIODE…checked them all and no diodes. I had to get some and solder them in myself (see picture as received and then after me adding one). Overall, cheaply made panel, not water resistant. Might work for some people but not me… they will require more work to make useful. Buy a Zealife 1W or Moultrie solar panel instead, costs more but is already weather tight and has a diode installed.

However plugging a small DC motor yields 25mA which isn't enough to make it spin even a bit.
I have another solar panel about a fifth of that area which is enough to make the motor spin.
I spent so much time trying to figure out what was wrong with my circuits but it turns out these panels suck. Garbage!

charger), they are great. You can’t see it In the photos very well but they have a matte top which both feels and looks very nice and constant, and are probably about 1.5-2 mm thick but feel really sturdy, and I am confident that these would be hard to break(especially on accident), and the solder pads are very easy to use. I hooked up 5 of the 1w panels in series (because I only had buck converters on hand, these also had a USB port), and while I have not extensively tested it they do produce energy(I have charged my phone even under a synthetic light source),and as long as their 1watt claims are legitimate I will be a be a very happy customer.
Edit: yes the solar cell definitely suffer in efficiency, haven’t yet achieved anything above 2watts, form 5-1watt panels. But still great build quality.
