This book read very smoothly. Loved both Scott and Harlow, and together they're perfect. The way they fight and bicker with each other is funny. And I'll warn you now, some of the things Scott says.....wow! Talk about sexual chemistry! Plus, we get to see more of Madison and J. Can't wait for the next book in this series which I think is a novella about Madison and J.
“FIERCE” by Nina Levine was an AMAZING story!!!!!!!!! It is labeled #2 in a spectacular MC story full of romance, danger, sexy men, steamy scenes, and an awesome story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started the first book of this series but never got into it but it did not interfere in me getting into this story!!! This book can absolutely be read as a standalone. Of course, I will be backtracking and reading the first book because I have to read everything from the beginning.
I found the characters to be so much fun! Scott was sexy, dangerous, and a sweet heart!!! Harlow was one tough cookie but she was a perfect match for Scott! Loved Harlow’s mom who absolutely supported everything about her daughter even the choice to be with a man who lived a dangerous life. Cassie, Harlow’s best friend was hilarious and hopefully will I read more about her in other books later in the series. Lisa; Scott’s neighbor needed so much but she had Scott and Harlow. Blade, Nash, Griff…. are all awesome characters who had my heart too!!!
I kept turning the pages in anticipation of the next conversation between Scott and his brothers, Scott and Harlow, and/or whoever else. Things got real at chapter 29. The author wrote the story so the reader could feel what Scott was feeling when he was looking into Harlow’s eyes in a moment of devastation. I felt horrible when Scott was made to leave the room. Like, holy cow!!!! Absolutely, bleary eyed and blowing my nose!!!!
I cannot wait to read more from NINA LEVINE whether it be a MC story or not. She can absolutely write a 5 star story in my opinion with a well written plot. The story was set up beautifully. Characters well developed. Connection made every which way without question. One story and I’m invested! LLLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEDDDD THIS BBBBOOOKKK!!!!!!!
Harlow is working hard it try and help her mom get her bakery back on track, they have a nice relationship. She meets Scott when he brings the neighbor girls cat in (her mom is a druggie and Scott keeps his eye on her) where she works for a vet. They are attracted to each other but there is some misconceptions on Harlow's part. Harlow is friends with his sister (she does not know that) they meet up again at a BBQ and she confronts him he gets pissed and leaves, she apologizes and after that they have a few interactions before she ends up taking a job as a bartender at his strip club because she got fired from her other job and she needs the money. Little flirting and back and forth and we are 2/3's through the book....everything else was all about the MC club and their problems. Scott is gruff but has a heart....but you mostly get to know him as the MC VP and not about his interaction with Harlow.
What I did not care for was this seemed to be more about the MC club and less about Harlow and Scott....their relationship almost seemed like an after thought. Things did not start to get interesting between them until about 2/3 through the book. It kind of dragged for me. This also takes place in Australia....and that would explain the "Mum" and possibly the weird spelling of some words like "favorite".
