Firefighter, Runo, meets a woman (Dawn) in need and oh boy does she need. Dawn's home situation is bad and Runo goes out of his way to make sure Dawn and her kids are protected.
I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
This book could be a trigger for some so be sure to read the book description above. (10-19 is code for domestic abuse)
I received a copy of this book directly from the publisher.
Dawn is in an abusive marriage and needs help. Runo is the right man and hero for her. Their love for each other in the end was beautiful.
I just wished the villain got a heavy dose of karma, although I understand why it was written this way.
If you enjoy dark romance, then what are you waiting for? Start reading.
However, this should come with some trigger warnings. Not for the faint-hearted.
Lea Bronsen’s writing is excellent. She does a great job of maintaining and escalating the suspense throughout the story, making it impossible to set the book down. Her characters are well rounded, their personal stories skillfully developed. More than once, my heart went out to them. I laughed, cried and despaired with them.
Runo's and Dawn's chemistry jumps off the page and though they fall for each other pretty quickly, the relationship between them, which is full of emotional, romantic and heated moments, feels natural and believable.
This was a great read, and I’ll be looking forward to more books by this author, especially future Smokey Glen stories!
