New York cab driver Korben Dallas didn't mean to be a hero, but he just picked up the kind of fare that only comes along every five thousand years: A perfect beauty, a perfect being, a perfect weapon. Together, they must save the world. Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, and Gary Oldman star in acclaimed director Luc Besson's outrageous sci-fi adventure, an extravagantly styled tale of good against evil set in an unbelievable twenty-third century world. Now presented in full 4K resolution, experience this dynamic action favorite like never before.
Ancient curses, all-powerful monsters, shape-changing assassins, scantily-clad stewardesses, laser battles, huge explosions, a perfect woman, a malcontent hero--what more can you ask of a big-budget science fiction movie? Luc Besson's high-octane film incorporates presidents, rock stars, and cab drivers into its peculiar plot, traversing worlds and encountering some pretty wild aliens. Bruce Willis stars as a down-and-out cabbie who must win the love of Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) to save Earth from destruction by Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg (Gary Oldman) and a dark, unearthly force that makes Darth Vader look like an Ewok. --Geoff Riley

This is a must have, fun sci-fi movie, just pure fun. Leave your brain at the refrigerator and just simply enjoy the `90s CGI, set design and the comedy (especially Chris Tucker)
Good PQ and AQ for a 15 year old movie but sadly the Extras are terribly lacking here. I'd expect a sci-fi movie of this kind would have loads of extras especially on creature designs, costume designs, spacecraft design and CGI development, etc. but none were available here. Just some trivia.
This movie is totally opposite to Fifth Element. It's not fun but very interesting. A story of human struggle to reach his dreams against the discrimination of the future...DNA superiority. The movie setting is kinda low key, using `50s/'60s costumes, building and cars instead of purposely designing/using something totally futuristic.
The PQ and AQ here are also good for a 15 year old movie but the subtitles are disgustingly odd! Big white font infront of a black box that blocks the movie scenes. Sadly, the Extras here is also lacking with only 1 specially done for the blu-ray release. The worst Deleted Scene quality I've seen so far for a blu-ray movie.
So in conclusion, I'd recommend sci-fi fan to buy this FIFTH ELEMENT/GATTACA Bundle. A great combo of 2 different type of sci-fi movie at the price of one. As for the rating:-
Fifth Element (4) + Gattaca (4) /2 = 4
Gary Oldman plays the part of the bad guy perfectly.
However Chris Tucker steals the show with his part as Ruby Rhod
the movie was made in 1997 so some of the razzle dazzle special effects may not seem like all that but the movie is still a good make you laugh with a predictable outcome.
I have watched it several times over the years and it still makes me laugh.
If you haven't seen this movie for some reason, buy it. If you've seen it before, buy it and watch it again. If you're a fan, this DVD is worth it just for the extras.
The video quality could be a little better, but then, this is a DVD of a movie from the 1990s.
