Hank is a fighter. He is fighting for his career and he is fighting his feelings.
Taryn is a family friend and has had Hank on her brain most of her life. She doesn't understand his reasons for hating her but once she is back home and employed at her fathers gym there will be no avoiding him.
Can Hank focus on the fights coming up or will Taryn's presence be too much for him to handle?
****There were so many times while reading this that I just wanted to slap Hank for the way he treated Taryn. I also wanted to shake Taryn and tell her to give up on Hank and look at his brother, Trenton or best friend, Mike. This was a rollercoaster of emotions. I didn't know who to route for and when. It was one of those "cant we all just get along" kinda reads. ;)

I could feel the adrenaline pumping through the wires of the metal cage and knew one day I wanted to fill their shoes. -Hank
It was a battle of skill, intensity and power. I wanted to harness that power and conquer everything....I wanted to be a champion. -Hank
My Amazon account notified me of a new author I had never heard of and thought I'd 1-click her first book Letting Go....holy s***, I'm hooked, this woman is crazy good. Author J.M Witt is a genius and there was no way I was putting my kindle down until I was finished. -Taryn
He's everything a woman wants in a man, charismatic, devoted, hot as hell and swoon...a master in the bedroom. Be still my heart, I think I'm in love with a fictional boyfriend. -Taryn

I can't help myself; he's all I've ever thought about. He's the one man that has haunted my dreams and made reality a living hell. I need to do this, just once to see if anything sparks. -Taryn
Breathless we both pull away and stare into each other's eyes. I was hoping for a spark to ignite, but what I got was a Fourth of July fireworks show.
Whatever just happened...I know I what I want.
I want more.
I want Hank. -Taryn
All this time I've hidden my feelings for the one woman I could never have. -Hank
It was a mistake, Taryn, something that never should have happened. Take your bag and go home, pretend like none of this happened and we can continue on with our lives as we always have. -Hank
Even if I have to wallow in my own self pity for the loss of the woman I want...Taryn Morris is the one girl I can never have. -Hank
My body desires his touch, my mind wants to hear that he wants me and my heart longs to be his. -Taryn
You're going to wreck me, Taryn. Everything I've ever wanted and worked so hard for, it could all be gone in the blink of an eye because I'm willing to choose you. -Hank
It’s refreshing to read about a “normal” couple where he isn’t a CEO that has way too much money. Hank is a hard working young guy whose goal is to become the best fighter he can be. A champion!! The story touches on them as teenagers and continues when they are in their early twenties. The characters are well developed and the links between them and their families are real and when you reading the story you feel like you are living it.
It ended in such a way that I want to know how book 2 will continue…. I don’t want to give the ending away so be sure to read this short story.
