I'd like to preface this review by saying that I am not a hardcore gamer by any means. This is the very first gaming controller that I bought for my PC. I've been using it to play GameCube games via the Dolphin emulator. Physically, the controller is very good. The buttons feel very responsive, not mushy at all, and the five in the center are nice and clicky. I haven't had any problems with the sticks, the triggers, or the shoulder buttons, either. I also like the physical construction, as well as the materials used. They don't quite feel like "super ultra premium" quality, but I personally think it's perfectly fine, and better than just "sufficient."
For all the praise I've given this controller, it should easily have earned five stars from me. I have had only one problem with this controller, but since it is such a critical error, I have to remove three stars for it. During gameplay, I had this controller disconnect on me. It doesn't happen at regular intervals, as far as I'm aware, but it happens at very inconvenient times--such as right in the middle of a race in Mario Kart Double Dash. Sometimes, I've been able to fix this by quickly pausing the emulator, and unplugging and re-plugging the controller back into my computer's USB port. However, I've only been able to do this about three or four times in a row before it becomes unresponsive. When I try re-plugging it in for the fourth or fifth time, my computer plays a tone indicating that a device has been plugged in, but the lights on the controller do not turn on, and the controller itself does nothing. When this happens, I just unplug the controller completely, and let it "cool down" for a while (usually a couple of hours). Then after that time has passed, I plug it back in and it works as normal... for ten minutes, when it cuts out again, and the cycle continues from there.
I do not know why my controller behaves in this manner. I have absolutely no idea what I could be doing wrong. I don't know if the controller needs to be updated or patched or something, but in short, it just stops working in the middle of gameplay for reasons that escape me.
If I could somehow find a way to fix this one single problem, then this product would EASILY receive five stars from me. But this one single problem is so absolutely critical and serious that, as it stands now, I can only give this product two stars.
