“A complete swoony escape! It’s a fun, sweet and deliciously sexy story about a woman who is tough and confident on the outside but soft, caring and, yes, a bit damaged on the inside, and a very predictable and too uptight man who discovered that even though they came from two very different worlds, they were perfect for each other.”—TJ Loves to Read

The Verdict: To be honest, I don’t recall a lot about Enzo from the previous books. I mean, I know he’s been in the periphery, but he didn’t really make an impression on me one way or the other. So I was very curious to find out more about his character, especially the nerd/fighter angle!
Recently divorced, Enzo lives the part of the stable, successful businessman while moonlighting as an up and coming MMA fighter. He’s by-the-book, sharp creases in his slacks, always put-together, with the finer things in life at his disposal. JL, on the other hand, is a brash, tattooed bartender, everything his elite family would never allow him to be. But their attraction to each other is undeniable.

Their relationship really begins when they agree to a first date, one in which JL chooses everything, and Enzo is simply along for the wild ride. She’s not altogether certain that her life, her world is right for him, but he’s more than willing to go along, leading to easily the longest date ever. It JL brings out Enzo’s wild side, and he’s a force of stability to her vulnerability. While I can’t say these two changed each other, they allowed each other to open up and eventually grow together, and it was so entertaining to watch their relationship develop.

It’s really impossible to go into more detail about the story itself without spoiling the whole thing, and (trust me) there’s no way I would do it justice. Suffice it to say that Fighting Dirty by Sidney Halston is yet another wonderful book in this entertaining series. The characters are entirely lovable, the banter is brilliant, the chemistry between them is indescribable, and the story itself is perfectly romantic. The Worth the Fight series is absolutely worth the read!

They are the ultimate i'll mate did couple. Enzo comes from a world of privilege. He is a sophisticated, well dressed business man. JL comes from the world of hard knocks. She is a tattooed, multi hair colored pixie bartender. Never judge a book by its cover. JL is a very talented artist and Enzo is training to be an mma fighter.
Even though they are completely different from each other they click. They bring out the best in each other. They are living in a dream world. Enzo is hiding a secret, a big secret that could destroy the happiness that he has with JL.
The story is funny, steamy and at times a little sad. Living in Brazil Enzo has been repressed most of his life, being the perfect son, the perfect business man and the perfect husband (she was a skank and didn't deserve him). When he came to the States, it was like his chains fell off and with JL he's finally learning to live. JL has kept her art a secret. With Enzo she is able to be open about it and share it with the world.

Fighting Dirty is the second book that I have read by Sidney Halston, and I loved this one just as much as the first one. I love romances in which the characters are complete opposites, yet they feel a strong pull toward one another. I have to say this one is one of my all-time favorites. I must add that I love the names of her titles…they perfectly reflect the story, and the name of the series is a true depiction to the books I’ve read. The couples don’t have an easy road to their HEA, but it’s worth the fight and struggle to get it!
I adored both Enzo and Jamie Lynn, but I wanted to be her BFF. She is such a spitfire. Life has knocked her down plenty of times, but she always gets back up. She should be bitter, but she isn’t. I, like Enzo, wanted “to absorb all her positive energy and gather strength from it.” She’s tiny physically, but her personality is HUGE! Her inner energy puts you under her spell…she is a person you won’t soon forget.
Now, for Enzo, he’s Mr. Straight-Laced. He comes from a rich, privileged family. You would think he has everything he wants and his life is perfect. You would be wrong. He has everything he could want except his freedom from his overbearing family, and JL gives him that. Enzo wears suits and has the sexy nerd thing going for him. Jamie Lynn is tiny, tattooed, and changes her hair as often as the wind changes direction. Yeah, you would think these two wouldn’t work, much less get along with each other. But, you would be greatly surprised. The two of them together just work!!!
The storyline is perfectly paced…the romance isn’t rushed, at least to me. All the characters are well-developed, even the secondary ones. Halston does a great job of including the characters from earlier novels which made me feel like I was visiting old friends.

Book Review For ** Fighting Dirty ** By Sidney Halston This is the first time reading anything by Sidney Halston and I thoroughly enjoyed this touching story, this story is a stand alone read but I recommend reading the series. This story is an M.M.A series and it's about Lorenzo Silva ( Enzo )who has is from Brazil is running his father's multi million dollar business in Florida, and who is training because he wants to fight M.M.A. professionally ' but his crew doesn't feel that he is really ready ,and that he needs to stay as amateur . He loses a bout and a bet with one of the regulars , but the problem is it's not easy to repay. Then there's the beautiful Jamie Lynn Calhoun or (J.L.) who's a waitress/bartender at a bar called The Pier in Tarpon Spring . Jamie is a down to earth petite woman with tattooed and you will ever know what color hair she will have from day to day ,because she changes it quite often right now it's magenta and she usually wears combat boots. But poor Enzo has been trying to get persistently to get Jamie to go out on a dad with him,but the answer is always the same "NO". Jamie is happier being on her own, she and her twin brother Travis has always taken care of each other. But Jamie has a secret love for art and sketching and when one day Enzo's ends up modeling nude for one of her art classes ,and she is amazed and attracted to this handsome, sexy man that's standing in front of her.But Enzo is quite happy now that he lose the bet, and at the end of the class she asks him out on a date. But for their first date which was unusual they were together for 48 hours just walking, eating, and climbing a wall, and breaking into the local library to look at her favorite art book And searching the world of hot passion.Read more ›
