Everytime I dive into a J.B. Salsbury book I know I am in for a treat. Every single edition from the Fighting Series has left me wanting more. The characters are well developed and deeply entrenched in each other's lives. The splendid concoction of beautiful fighters, their sexy sidekicks, and the Las Vegas Strip as their backdrop, Ms. Salsbury "brings it" every single time.

Mason is a UFL fighter who has given up on women. In the fourth book of the series (Fighting the Fall), we watched Mason get his heart broken by Eve (who fell in love with Mason's boss Cameron). Although it is evident to everyone that Eve and Cameron are much better suited for each other, Mason can't help but feel regret and frustration about his inability to find "that someone". Mason is a bit of a "cry baby". He is easily frustrated and doesn't have a problem with throwing the occasional temper tantrum. Mason's half brother is a world of trouble and when he swings into town, things get very complicated! Little does Mason know that the girl of his dreams is about to smack right into him (literally) and his entire perception on life is going to change.

Trix is known around town as a stripper and a whore. Although she comes from a religious family, she has been living "a life of sin" in order to solve her sister's murder. Now however far out that plot line might seem, believe me it works. And, it works well! Trix is a diverse character managing her double life with grace and ease. However hardened she may appear by the life she is living, inside she is full of goodness. Trix comes from a huge family and the love for her family is truly her driving force.

Mason and Trix don't have a smooth start to their relationship.

Book six and I am still just as excited as I was when I started book one. By the time you make it this far in a series, especially one where the author keeps you aware and up to date on all of your favorite characters, you truly feel that they exist. Like, if I put UFL Training Center, Las Vegas, Nevada into my GPS, in a little over 12 hours I would be hanging out with the hottest boys inside the octogan.

I love how each book focuses on one fighter but you get to hear from all of them. As they grow, mature (well some of them, sorry Blake) and create families we are right there along for the ride. The ride....this has been one hell of an adventure. And it's not over yet.

I have grown to love every one of these fighter boys as well as their significant others and precious little ones. JB, for the record, I'm never letting you stop this series. I totally see a continuation...Fighting for the Future the newest generation, 20 years later. Whatever it takes, to keep these amazing stories going.

Jonah, Blake, Rex, Cameron and now the newest member to join our tight little circle, Mason.

Mason, the youngest of the bunch, seems to me like the most emotional. They all have demons to overcome but our Mason seems like a tortured soul and that makes us fighting girls very protective of him. He has had so much heartbreak in his life, you find yourself being extremely cautious and mother hen like to anyone who attempts to get close to him.
He seemed to play the tough guy role pretty well, but as the story went on we started to see just how sensitive and vulnerable he really is.

“Love you too, baby.” Even though loving her is probably going to kill me. ~ Mason

Trix...does she pass the test. Absolutely. She is one bad*ss chick.

Wow!

The prologue will hit you hard and twisted your gut, JB's style. Like a promise to what to come and all it's twist and turn.

Few pages in, it brigs me back the vibe of the first book. fighting for flight where I come to love raven and her story.
This story is more about Trix. There's moment where you could really feel the pain of her past and who she became and then there's moment you swooned on Mason and how he changed her and brings out the real her.

There's quite a suspense that will keep you sit at the edge of your bed. Uncertain on how things will play out even knowing that JB always will deliver HEA.

So many movies came to mind with this one as well as songs (normally that means a good thing in my book). Pretty woman, striptease, ...

Songs like beneath your beautiful (labyrinth), unchartered (sara bareilles), gravity (Sara bareilles)

Mason is my kind of alpha. Ticked all boxes.
And Trix is lucky to have him in her life.

4 solid stars.

I really love this series, but I just couldn't get into this story. It just made no sense to me. A girl, Trix has become a stripper so she can find her sister's killer. However it's been four years and she has no leads! Not a really strong plan. It felt like the writer wanted the Hero to fall in love with her immediately after he meets her....while she's stripping for his half brother. Weird. While Trix is in truth a good person, I didn't see Baywatch falling so easily for someone, after carrying a torch for Evie the past year. Then there's his own backstory. It would have seemed completely unnecessary except that we come to learn it ties in with Trix's. Of course it does. There is also some more Gia and Hatch, which was like 3 books ago, and I had trouble following the plot line. After reading the rest of the series, and loving every single book, I was disappointed by this one. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't great.
