How refreshing! No slanted "spin" from right or left. Just a well written, day-by-day account of the reality being faced by British soldiers as they labored to carry out their ill defined mission in Afghanistan. The difficulties - both cultural and military - of training and motivating the Afghan fighting forces "allied" with the West are painted in their mind numbing, multifaceted complexity. A good read.
