I finally got around to buying this. I don't regret it. I've known of Figment since I was little, my mom loved him, and a professor I had named a chimp after him. Recently I got to see the newer version of Figment. This story really speaks to me. I read the second installment and I am going through a tough time right now. I feel almost connected to these characters in a way. Wish there was a third installment of the series.
I bought this and the second to try and get to know these two a little better. For me I feel like I really did. If you are curious about it and want to learn about them a little, this is an excellent way to get to know Dreamfinder and Figment. But don't take my word for it. I'll let you decide.

I preface this by saying that I am a 31-YO female and I bought this book for myself, but I think it's great for children, too. Now that I'm out of my twenties and the bar-hopping and same-ol' same-ol' is starting to get pretty old, I'm engaging myself in a quest to reconnect with the things that inspired me as a child: space exploration, science, Madeleine L'Engle books, dance... Oh hello, again, Figment!
The book itself is beautiful. The cover art comes printed on a dust jacket; if you remove the dust jacket, the hardcover is a matte white with the black-and-grey artwork "Literature" by Andrew Gaskill. The pages are glossy and the colors are vibrant. The weight of the pages is a little less than I would have expected, but my guess is that it's the standard for comic books (I'm not an average collector), and it still feels like quality.
I received the book yesterday (August 10, 2016), and the entire book was shrink-wrapped, providing protection to the book and its dust jacket. I peeled off the plastic and quickly flipped through the perfect pages with joy, giving them a little sniff-sniff (come on, you know you do it, too); and then, the book having passed my initial tests with flying colors, I set it aside and returned to my "adult" life. Come midnight last night, as I lay awake in bed unable to sleep, I realized why: I was excited to read the Figment book. My inner child was restless.
I took my time and enjoyed the introduction, the story, and the artwork for a couple hours. (It definitely adds something if you can imagine Figment's lines in his voice!) And just let me say, this book brought out all the emotions that I was hoping it would: excitement, imagination, introspection, hope, playfulness, laughter...
If you're here, chances are, you're already a Figment fan or you know someone who is. You probably already understand how a silly little purple dragon with way-too-tiny wings can make you believe in yourself and in being creative and trying new things. I'm so glad I finally remembered how important this little guy was to me as an imaginative (and mischievous) 8-YO girl, and I think I would have appreciated this book at 8, 18, 28... and I plan on stocking up because I can't wait to share him with my own kids one day.
My favorite line from Figment: "Find the same spot in your mind where you found ME!" This book has helped me to do just that. :)

At first I purchased the story for the art work and the fact Figment is a Disney I have heard of but never knew. By the end of the second chapter I was hooked and loving these characters and world they were exploring. I give the story five stars since it hard great art work, a story for all ages, reread ability, fun characters, and most of all a message to everyone that we all can relate to. I wish there was more stories but therefore you to imagine. I would recommend this story to anyone whether to hear of these characters or not.
P.S. I read this as I was going through depression and while reading it gave me an escape from my pain and sadness. It gave me hope again.

I never ever, ever write a review for any products I buy. Ever. But after reading this graphic novel, I was compelled to. If you are a die hard fan of the original Epcot ride, Journey into Imagination, you ABSOLUTELY need to buy this book. Please do NOT hesitate. It was so awe inspiring and full of the imagination that brought the original ride to life. It honestly brought a tear to my eye. It reminded me of a time when Epcot rides were built entirely on original ideas and inspiration. Dream finder and Figment are exactly how I imagined they would be. The art is great and dialogue well thought out. You can feel that this was created by people who truly love Journey Into Imagination and everything it stands for. So please, I beg you, buy this book.

Fantastic little Graphic Novel. It is about time we get something on Figment. My only complaint is that I wanted more of this loveable little dragon. Many of us fell in love with Figment and Dreamfinder at EPCOT as a kid. I always wanted more with him in it. Now as an adult they have made it. I bought It and I love it.

Bought this as a gift for a Figment fan. I thought this was more like a novel but this is actually a comic book. I don’t think that’s clear in the description. It says novel not “graphic novel” or “comic book.”

Figment has been my favorite since I first saw him when I was little. This captures the magic without dumbing it down or making it just for kids. 💖

I bought this for a friend who loves Figment. I am not a huge comic book fan, but I ended up reading this before I gave it to him and I loved it!

I've been visiting Epcot since I was very young, so Figment the dragon was an icon of my childhood. This comic is beautifully illustrated and well written. I would recommend to Disney and steampunk enthusiasts alike.
