Fila began in 1911, in the small alpine town of Biella, Italy, a place renowned for manufacturing the world's finest textiles, and weaving fabrics with impeccable quality, true innovation and extraordinary beauty. Born of the city and its traditions, Fila is inexorably derived from Biella's dedication to artistry, luxury and elegance. This is our birthright, it's in our soul, and it defines our future. We continue to enrich the athletic experience by improving comfort and performance with Italian design, quality craftsmanship and refined materials. There is no feeling quite as luxurious as that of playing in Fila, and that is the reason for our existence. We create what is desired, not what is necessary. Not just enough, but more than you need. This is Fila.

The MAJOR flaw with these shoes, however, is the durability. My first pair of shoes ripped on my big toe right where the fabric meets the rubber of the sole. This wasn't after heavy use, either. I ripped it after bumping my toe on a staircase literally 2 minutes after wearing them for the first time! Thankfully, I was able to exchange that pair.
My wife wasn't so lucky. After we finished hiking the aforementioned trail, she had ripped holes in nearly every toe. She had problems with sand and dirt filling the shoes and grating against her feet. I had learned how to walk more softly in my shoes, so I didn't experience any rips. For that reason alone I would discourage purchasing them if you are planning to get heavy use out of them.
So, again, I still love the concept, but not this particular shoe. If I hadn't been so busy after the holidays, I probably would have returned them for a refund.
Been using Vibram 5 fingers for the last 6 months. In the last week I have tried in addition to Fila Skeletoes 2.0, the Adidas Adipure Trainer and the Fila EZ Slide.
The 2.0's are the most comfortable and protective of the lot. The EZ Slides hurt the top of my feet, the Vibrams pinch my toes. The Adidas are a nice effort but the design and lack of velcro leaves the shoes disconnected from the whole movement of the body. I should add that visually the Vibrams are way more attractive than the rest especially the Komodo model. However, the pain is just not worth the Rock Star good looks.
The Skeletoes low price is a bonus, but even if they cost as much as the Vibrams, I would gladly buy them. Ordered a 2nd pair today in a shocking shade of chartreuse.
Overall, these Fila running shoes are comfortable to wear casually, walking or running for a bit. They are still fine but for extended running, not very comfortable, tho walking is fine no matter the distance, despite there is not much cushioning in these shoes. I prefer to wear these running shoes in wet weather as they dry fast and seem to grip decently on wet pavements also. I like the styling and materials of these shoes too.
The only real negative issue I have had with these shoes is sometimes it's hard to get the toes to get into the proper toe slot on these shoes, but in time, I get the toes into the slots. Not as fast as putting on regular sneakers, that's for sure.
So overall, I like these running shoes and wear them daily. They are interesting shoes but probably not for the hard-core runner, tho I think I spotted versions of this running shoe out there for more intensive runners.
