The soft leather FKBPRM/B compact palm rest, combines style with comfort in a smaller size that fits Tenkeyless FILCO, or other compact keyboards. The interior is made from memory foam that is divided into two different heights allowing you to move the palm rest back and forth to suit your desired level of support. A heavy steel base with a rubber coated cloth covering provides stability and just the right amount of traction to hold its place, yet still remain easy to move over your desk when needed. Additionally, the leather is coated with textured polyurethane that provides water and stain resistance.

Annoying.

The more I use this, the less I like it. The ridge ruins it for me. Unfortunately, I kept this beyond the return period, thinking that I would eventually adapt to it. The opposite has happened. Why have a stepped surface? What other keyboard rest has this questionable feature? The ridge touches my palms in such a way that the more I type, the more annoying it is. It also slightly irritates my ulnar (carpal) nerve. No matter how much I paid for it, I am going to get rid of this wrist rest.

I also have the Ducky leather wrist rest. It is flat across the surface and does not irritate my palms and wrists the same way as the Filco. The Ducky is advertised as waterproof, something important for cleaning. I don't think that the Filco has much water resistance. Someone at Imgur (go to a search engine, type imgur Filco wrist rest) tore down the Filco and found out that it was not sewn through. It is actually two halves that are sewn, with cardboard on the bottom half. The top and bottom sections are glued to a piece of unpainted steel. See the photos at the link for more information. The one advantage of the Filco over the Ducky is that it has a bottom surface that grips the desktop. It is also heavier. Both of these features prevent it from sliding around too much. The unmodified Ducky wrist rest does not stay stationary for long. $1 worth of thin black rubber pads solved that problem, though. Another alternative for a leather wrist wrest is the Three-Star, which is advertised as hand-made in Japan. The Noko is also hand-made. Cost: the Ducky is the lowest, the Filco is in the middle, and the 3-star and the Noko are about the same at the high end. Both the Ducky and the Filco have a slight chemical smell that after several months of use, still lingers.

The last palm rest you will ever need!

The Filco Leather Wristrest FKBPRM/B is everything I hoped it to be. It's very firm yet not totally hard. The back plate grips my desktop firmly when downward pressure is applied, keeping it from sliding while typing. Yet it does not grip too much if I need to slide it a bit while applying no pressure.

I'm using this with a daskeyboard. It's just the right height to type with.

The construction is solid enough to last for decades if cared for properly. It consists of two parts sewn together. The top half is a very firm memory foam covered in a fine smooth leather. The top is divided halfway between the front and the back, being slightly higher on the back portion. The bottom part is a very rigid metal plate wrapped in a material that grips your desktop when pressure is applied. On my smooth desk the rest will not move while I'm pushing down on it.

This is one quality product you won't regret having.

Super Quality and really comfortalbe to use

This was an expensive item but its the only one of its kind. I wanted a shorter keyboard so I can have the mouse closer vs. on the other side of the desk and have to reach over awkwardly to reach the mouse all the time. So I ordered a mechanical keyboard by CMStorm and then wanted a good wrist support to complete the package. I was really happy to find this item and I justified spending the money because I spend most of my day behind a computer as my job and this will save my wrists from damage. I have been very happy with this product. I looks really luxurious and functions perfectly. Holds on the desk nicely when hands are on it. I have not had any complains with this.. and hardly notice that its even there anymore.

Noxious chemical smell

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas. The stickers over the package box ends were peeled off so I could tell it had been opened. Due to this, I decided to inspect it to be sure it was ok. When I pulled it out, the smell was atrocious. I put it up to my nose and it burned my nostrils. It is NOT a leather smell, it is noxious chemical smell. To me, it is not ok for a product that spends all day next to your skin (wrists) to reek of strong chemicals.

It looked well constructed, but the smell is not acceptable in my opinion.

Very comfortable, stylish wristrest from Filco. As with most things Filco, it is a bit overpriced.. but you get what you pay for. The leather is nice and smells great, the stitching is tight, and the bottom is grippy enough that it'll never slide across my desk. It is slightly squishy, but still firm. Nothing close to the squishyness of a gel wristrest. On top of the extremely high quality, it looks great complimenting my tenkeyless keyboards.

There's nothing quite like a leather wrist pad

If you really want/use a comfy wrist pad for your key board, this is the one to get. It should easily outlive us all - it's built like a tank, has a thick rubber bottom to grip your desk, and a perfect density foam core wrapped with fine leather. Since rubber and nylon make me itch, this was also the only way to go.
