After reading the blurb at the end of this book, I am interested in reading the second book, and since this was Annie Adams debut book and I liked her writing well enough, I'd give the next one a chance. But, if the things that bugged me in this one weren't addressed, I'd be unlikely to finish it. I look forward to finding out.
In this book Quincy is a young divorcee who takes over a flower shop for a family member and now runs the place. After the death of one of her competitors the police are now looking at Quincy as the main suspect. She has no choice but to find a way to clear her name. It doesn't help much that the investigator in charge seems to have it out for her. But good thing another officer comes to her rescue, and being handsome just makes things better.
The story takes place in Utah and the Mormon religion is present in the book. But not in the way you would think, Quincy is a Mormon but she rebels against the religion and often times speaks against some of the things Mormons do. The religious thing isn't overly present or shoved down your throat.
Quincy also has to deal with helping those in abusive relationships. These are the facts of life and I don't think have to be hidden from books. But again, it's not an overly in your face style.
I enjoyed the book, the characters are quirky, I especially love the introduction of KC and look forward to hopefully seeing her in the future books. Not too bad for a debut and looking forward to Book 2 being released!
