I am writing this review with hesitation and even wondering why I bother; clearly I am in the minority of the remaining fans reading the last installment of Indebted. All those who give this book five stars must have been reading a different alternative book that the one downloaded in my kindle, there is nothing in final debt that "wrapped everything in a nice bow" except lots of useless sex, random chapters with no purpose and so many loose ends one wonders if the author lost track of what and who she was writing about.

It's hard for me to write this review because I really really wanted redemption after book five. Ms. Winters has in the past shown she has talent, storytelling ability and capability. Hoping and wishing against all odds that maybe just maybe book five was the exception not the rule of what Indebted series was to be became an awesome concept that couldn't be executed and fell flat.

I don't hate book six as I did book five, but the idea that this is one of the best dark books or series ever written is unconscionable. Internal inconsistencies among the books and story line and the inability of the story teller to keep track of the plot line and characters and know who did what and how things happened make it impossible to take anything said in the last two books and epilogue seriously (and yes I am a chump I even bought the epilogue).

Like the last seasons of many TV programs like those of Dallas, Ally McBeal and True Blood (who jump the shark before their last season) it's like this story exploded, plot disintegrated and editing didn't exist. Which is kind of scary that Ms.

So disappointed. The last two books were clearly made of mostly filler. Needless, worthless, constant internal dialogue by the two primary characters. Skimmed over much of it and the same mechanical sex scenes. I feel ripped off. Just like the last volume ended, the two act mindless and rut like animals in times of incredible danger when action is critical. Unrealistic. There are so many sex scenes, they become mundane, repetitive, and sickly with all the internal dialogue going on. They aren't sexy. This was a dark series but I think the author took her work in a sad and wrong direction.

A good thirty to fifty percent of the book is the dialogue, mindless rutting, extreme violence, and revelations that we've mostly figured out. It wasn't necessary to hear from Bonnie or Mabel, both evil and seriously sick and psychotic women. The saying "For every good man... Same for women. The only thing that moved me was Kes, letting himself go and God rest it. I did care to know was what happened to Jasmine as well. The rest we'd already mostly figured out.

I was appalled that Jethro expects Nila to continue to wear the halo of doom around her neck for life and she wants to. Between that and the bloody bracelet and ring made out of a diamonds representing a long line of blood and sacrifice, she should have felt weighted down by horrifying disgust. Even I wanted to throw up. What does Jethro want to do? Rut again. It's not even romantic anymore and carries a lack of respect for the emotions behind the story.

Personally with what was revealed, I think Tex and Cut should have squared off and both died. I think the only ones that should have been left was Kes, Jaz, and Vaughn. When the others passed, that is when Kes should have awakened.

Couldn't finish. After 6 books of this I was/am wanting this DONE. only reading because the story wasn't finished. But mentally in book 5 I started to just feel EXHAUSTED with the story line over and over and over --- and I'll be honest The lead guy - not a MAN, a freaking pushover. OMG. not worthy of all the sh#t she has gone through and definitely not worthy of putting herself BACK into horrible dangerous situations. And he just can't SAVE her... WTH??? I am just done. don't care what the end is. Story shouldn't have been freaking stretched out so damned long, should have been done on book 3.

Did this series really need six volumes?? I was never so happy to plod to the end of a novel in all my life. I think six books was overkill and a way to exploit readers who thought that the book would deliver more, or for idiots like me, who persevere to the bitter end, no matter how over the top or melodramatic a book becomes.

Jethro was a waste of a hero. All the good intentions in the world, but never really able to achieve his goal of rescuing the damsel in distress. He was like Superman, All the strength and power at his disposal, but still got the crap beat out of him at every turn. Also, what is with all the crazy people? The entire series was like a psycho convention, with each character being more superlatively insane than the last, so that the least insane person appeared normal by comparison.

The only real saving grace was that the heroine came into her own and was ultimately not expecting the big, bad and ultimately useless alpha male to rescue her. But she was also not without fault. When she had the chance to kill Bonnie, she just stood there listening to Grandma Looney Toons yap away. There were 10 pages of yammering going on in this supposed scene of suspense, all so the woman could keel over, purportedly from cardiac arrest, but I am convinced it was from boredom.

The books read like a bad film noire, with a lot of tirsome hyperbole and over explanation, sililoquies, villains twiddling their handlebar moustaches and monologues. I did not finish part six and will not buy the epilogue. By the end, I was not even interested in finding out about the origins of the feud, which, at the outset, was the most intriguing aspect of the storyline, I was beyond caring and wished that a flaming toilet bowl would shoot out of nowhere and end the entire farce.
