This introduction to real estate tells how to save and raise capital, what mistakes to avoid in picking investment properties, and explains management of rental properties. The book should give an average person with no prior knowledge a good overview, and will allow the reader to decide whether this is something he/she will want to pursue. The author has many years of experience in real estate investing, and the information he shares is easy to understand and well worth the price.
I’d say the book is intended for those who’re into finances or have something to work to, a career of sorts, not just in the banking system, or anything that has to do with money but in general. You need to have an income before trying to put into work the ideas of the book, I think this is what I’m trying to say. The book quotes real estate millionaire Arnold “Terminator” Schwarzenegger (I just copy-pasted that from the web and I’m not ashamed, that name is impossible) which is a great story about real estate success.
Real estate is really a domain that, once you’ve put in your part of the work and sweat, pays off in the long run immensely. It really gives you the financial freedom that you deserve after you’ve put in the years of work prior. It gives you independence and lets you free to pursue a career, a hobby, whatever you want. Have 5 kids, what do I know? All in all, a great book and surely a 5 stars read.
However, I did like the 2 ways described for seeing if a property is an acceptable investment using the 1% rule and the 15% cash on cash ROI. Good job of explaining these two selection criteria.
