Inconsistencies got to be too many. He was in jeans, then a suit. There were 6 shot glasses, then 4. It got to be distracting.
Also the conversations were bungled together incorrectly and it was difficult to tell who was talking when. Basic grammar /editing things.
I bought this book because there wasn't a single review under 5 stars and it was a good story. Great characters. But how it got this many reads with all these errors baffles me.
Also, there were a few plot points never resolved. Just kind of annoying.
I still enjoyed the story though.
A fresh edit would make me give it 5 stars.
This book is the most amazing romantic journey I have been on in a very, very long time. I was ready to call dibs on Alastar right away, but no other than Emerson gets to have him, I know that now.
Emerson is an Australian young woman. She has an internet flirt with Mark, who is living in London. They know each other from their work and Emerson just knows she has to meet him. He gets her a job at his company in London, and she flies across the world together with her best friend who is starting in a nanny position in London as well.
As soon as Emerson sets eyes on Mark, she knows he is not the one for her, and she is so disappointed but tries to hide it.
In a small antique shop in the heart of London, she runs into Alastar O’Shea by coincidence (or is it?), and that’s when the story of Emerson and Alastar begins
This story’s twists and turns are really tangled, and I’m not going to reveal any more of the story. Everyone should just throw themselves off the cliffs and into the unknown, just as I did when I started reading Find me Alastar.
TL Swan is an amazing storyteller. She had me by my “balls,” from the first sentence and I could not put the book down before I had finished it. It is crazy romantic. Not in the soft kitten, baby animal, unicorn and rainbow kind of way, but in a heartfelt and really deep kind of way. I swear I fell in love with Emerson and Alastar and I could feel them pulling my heartstrings all the way.
The supporting characters are brilliant, and the whole universe surrounding Emerson and Alastar seems to be well thought through. Actually, I get the feeling that nothing is left to coincidence in this entire book. It is made to seduce the reader from the very moment the book is being picked up.
I need a break; I can’t read another book right now. I just need to sit here nice and quiet and let the world pass me by, while I dream of Emerson and Alastar.
Thank you to the author for this amazing, wonderful advanced copy.
When Emerson is drawn into the store Heirloom she meets a man who is after the same ring as her. Later she discovers his name is Alastar O'Shea and the two share an extremely strong connection.
As the two go back and forth with their relationship will they be able to figure everything out? When other variables, such as missing paintings, come into play what will Emerson discover?
Wow!!! This book was so much more than I expected it to be from the first page until the end. I was swept into these lives and truly had no idea what was going to happen next as my mind was creating stories and when I finished the book it was so much more than I expected it to be.
Emerson is torn between almost wanting feelings for Mark to justify leaving Liam and then her developing feelings towards the mysterious Alastar. I love Emerson's friendship with Brielle and I was definitely sad at the end when Brielle didn't believe Emerson. Brielle's relationship with her boss, Julian was great and it definitely deserves it's own story.
Alastar was so hot and cold, yet as the story develops you begin to learn more and I began to understand why he was so tormented. I loved his mom, Connie, and his brother, Thomas was over-protective but at the end we understand why.
This book was so well written that I knew there had to be a link but had no idea at how long it had gone on for. Such an incredible book!
