I'm already a big fan of the Finding Series and now I am even more!

I love watching characters grow. As they mature, we get to see them tackle a bit more serious issues. In this book, yes, there is romance but at the same time it tells the the story of a man struggling with PTSD. This story is well written and at times raw with emotion. A great addition to a wonderful series. I look forward to the next one and would strongly recommend this book to everyone.

Where to start with this love story, the above synopsis says it all, it is beautiful but it isn’t easy

and of course nothing starts out easy.

Start out with Sarah, a country girl from Alabama, who dreams of getting her graduate degree in psychology, while working on degree, she will be interviewing men and women who had treatment at the VA. She is determined to do the best job, always a top student.

When she first arrives at the graduate housing, she wasn’t happy that she had to carry everything upstairs and of course a good looking guy comes along and helps, wow he seems like the perfect man. They are even going to be doing their graduate stuff together at the VA. Sounds like she has found her dream man, or so she thought.

When she comes out of the office after interviewing the Doctor she is going to be working with, she sees a man… is he real? Wow, it must be a dream, a mirage.

As Michael enters the office of Dr. Wright he sees her, is she real? Wow if must be a dream a mirage. Michael has his own issues suffering with PTSD, and other problems from the war. He saw her but didn’t meet her at this time, but she is his dream girl.

This story is written so well, I could feel for everyone in this story. The characters are well developed and it is just such a fascinating story that it is hard to put down, I didn’t even want the story to end. I loved they way she brought up domestic violence, PTSD and other issues, these are so important and also shows that it can be helped. I felt this story touched on a lot of emotions and shows about the other people involved as well.

If you want to read a great story, and emotional story, a love story, a heartbroken story and more, this is it. I won’t tell you anymore but this book left me feeling hopeful when it was done.

Sarah is a Southern Belle who knows what she wants and is willing to work hard to get it. And that puts her in the position of dealing with all kinds of men with all kinds of secrets. And some of those secrets just happen to be deadly. Michael is a good guy who can't help but be a hero. Especially when it means he gets to rescue a beautiful blonde who sees him for who he is, and does not think less of him for it. Together they grow as friends, as well as individuals. But can Sarah see that she deserves better than what she has been allowing for her life? Even more, can Michael ever believe that he is exactly what Sarah deserves before it is too late?

Find Me in Manhattan is a book for everyone! Shealy James gives readers a story that has a little bit of everything: drama, mystery, romance, and comedy. The ending is tied up nicely, but I can't help but want a second book to see where the characters go.

Such a great story! I loved Sarah and was so glad to see she got her own time to shine. I watched her character grow and develop throughout the Finding series, and finally deal with her own personal struggles while trying to find love in the big city. I enjoyed watching Sarah "find her way" into the heart of a man who is dealing with his own demons. It was full of raw emotion, experienced by both the hero and heroine as they learned more about themselves and each other. A perfect compliment to the other books in the series!

Sarah is a PHD student in psychology at Columbia University in New York. Sarah’s family lives on a farm in Alabama. She has never had much success with men and is wary of any type of relationship.

Michael is a veteran who is being treated for the post-traumatic stress syndrome he suffers following a deadly IED attack on the convoy in which he was riding. He experiences flashbacks, night terrors, fear of enclosed space, including the cars he builds, and is terrified of the prospect of a relationship.

They meet while Sarah is collecting data at the VA on the outcomes of psychiatric treatment that is provided to veterans. They are immediately attracted to each other, although both resist the attraction and refuse to acknowledge its existence.

The story is about each person’s attempt to overcome debilitating self-doubt.

Michael suffers from severe survivor’s guilt, having survived the attack while others did not. He suffers self-doubt taught be his father when he was young.
Sarah struggles to be an independent person who follows her own mind and heart rather than doing what she is told to do, whether it is by her father, by Michael, or by some other boyfriend.

The story is told in the first person, alternating between Sara and Michael. It is interesting to see the different takes on the same events and to see how people can interpret things in very different ways. This is a good story with good writing, and I enjoyed it very much.

David Burnett for the Kindle Book Review.
