From the Author

An intrepid Australian, Margie Warrell is a bestselling author, master certified coach, media personality and dynamic speaker who empowers people globally to live more courageous lives.

The bestselling author of Find Your Courage (McGraw-Hill), Margie has learned a lot about courage since her childhood growing up as one of seven children on a farm in rural Australia, to becoming an emerging leader in the human potential movement.

Along the way she has travelled to over 60 countries, venturing to places most people only read about - from the Sahara Desert to the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea; from refugee camps of the Palestinian West Bank to the primitive tribes of the Amazon rain forest.

Margie returned to Melbourne, Australia in 2012.  After more than a decade of runningnumerous leadership and performance programs with top US organizations, Margie continues to be a sought-after speaker, travelling frequently to the US for keynotes and workshops.

A certified master coach and Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming with a background in Fortune 500 Business and Psychology, Margie has built an international career on empowering individuals - and the organizations they work for - with the strategiesthey need to expand their vision, engage in bigger conversations and lead more courageously.   Her client organizations include Best Buy, United Healthcare, British Telecom, ExxonMobil, NASA, Ernst & Young, Accenture, and AOL.  She is also a guest lecturer to MBA students at Georgetown University.

With her down to earth Australian humor and working mother-of-four efficiency, Margie gets to the heart of what holds people back in their business, careers, relationships, leadership and life.  Warm and direct, she has become a regular media guest  on national television with appearances on The TODAY Show, FOX News, CNBC, and is the  "Resident Coach
During the past decade, Margie has witnessed what she considers a growing trend of "fear becoming the new normal" for many people.  This has only served to fuel her passion in helping people become aware of areas where they are settling for less than they truly want, engage in bigger conversations, and expanding what they see as possible for themselves and the organizations for whom they work.

In 2010, she founded Global Courage, an organization focused on supporting women in expanding their vision, and building their capacity, confidence and competence for courageous leadership. Margie has been a keynote speaker at the UN Foundations Women Leading the Future Conference, Accenture's International Women's Day, The Womenetics Global Women's Initiative, AOL's Women's Leadership Symposium and numerous other leading women's events globally.

Having read my share of self help books -- as both business writer and eager consumer -- I'm seldom surprised by something new. But with "Find Your Courage," Aussie author Margie Warrell truly does offer a fresh take on moving beyond your limitations and going after the life you want. In addition to being very readable, well-organized and inspiring, Warrell's book (unlike so many in this genre) is also very practical -- drawing on her work as an executive coach and corporate speaker and offering thought-provoking exercises to make your dreams reality. Her twelve daily acts of courage, which build from taking responsibility and challenging your stories (my personal favorite!) to the courage to let go and be a leader are as applicable to a fulfilling personal life as to professional success, making this book useful to anyone looking to "live more boldly," as Warrell puts it. This is a book I'll come back to again and again and strongly recommend it.

Find Your Courage by Margie Warrell: This book is an excellent guide for gaining courage in the work place and in life. The author divides her tips into twelve Acts for Becoming Fearless At Work and in Life. She discusses different types of courage and how to gain it: Courage to take responsibility, live with integrity, challenge the stories you are living and telling, and to dream bigger. When you put courate into action you must be yourself, speak up, take action, persevere, and learn how to say no to what you really know you do not want to do or are not capable of doing. Finally, courage can become, with practice, a way of BEING: living with an open heart, letting go, and being a leader by your actions. This book is filled with wisdom for anyone to apply in any situation. It would make a perfect gift for graduates or those entering a new career.

This is the preeminent guidebook that provides you with a sensible, straightforward approach to self-actualization and to truly living life to the fullest. It is a succinct, yet comprehensive discussion of how to gain the courage to live the life you really want to lead. Margie Warrell's style is both compassionate and direct. She leverages her own experiences to provide a sympathetic discussion of the challenges we face in all aspects of our lives, and she gives us the strategies and tools to courageously meet those challenges head-on. Nearly every page has a golden nugget of information that the reader will find useful. Ms. Warrell's brilliant assembly of the material and her methodical approach to the subject provides the reader with actionable steps to make real life changes. Having always struggled to find "self-help" books that really gave anything more than a warm-fuzzy feeling, or "just smile and everything'll be fine" strategy, I am really happy to have found this book as it gets to the heart of the matter of just having the courage to get your life in gear. Have a pen handy when you read it as you'll want to mark up key passages, take some notes, and dog-ear dozens of pages that you'll want to revisit later.

I can honestly say I have never read a self development guide that has inspired me to such an extent that I would be a changed person as a result, that was until I came across 'Find Your Courage'.

For me, the book was engaging from the first page, the author combines personal reflections, with honesty and humour - whilst sharing insights from inspirational leaders and individuals from around the world.

I believe this book will take each reader on their own personal journey and perhaps uncover those things about themselves they either haven't wanted to acknowledge, or don't even realise they are there. A key highlight are practical exercises for developing self awareness and 'real' strategies for generating change - so it is unlikely to be a book you just read and forget about in a month's time.

I can't express in words what a profound impact this book has had on my own development journey, and I am looking forward to the next book from the author.
