In the world of New Adult novels it's refreshing to find an author who really seems to 'get' the feelings and emotions of a twenty something college student and Lex Martin has done this in spades! This is the story of Jax and Dani. Jax is a wealthy college student who is interested in women for hook-ups only, having been burned in a previous relationship. He has an immediate sexual and more importantly, emotional attraction to Dani at a club and things seem to be going smoothly until he has to leave suddenly and in the process of helping a friend suffers a concussion, forgetting all about Dani in the process. A week later much to Dani's chagrin she meets Jax again and finds out he's her roommates brother with no memory of her. Still, the spark of attraction lingers between them and only time will tell if they can find their way back to each other.

This was a very enjoyable read for me! I thought that the author really had a handle on the characters and made them likeable and interesting to the reader. Jax is a self-avowed man-whore and makes no apologies for this, he likes sex and he knows how to get. In the beginning he appears shallow and self absorbed but as the details of his background are revealed it becomes obvious that there are reasons for his actions. At the same time, his character evolves over the course of the book into a much more attractive and likeable man. Dani is sweet and unassuming, and her attraction to Jax is perfectly understandable, as are her hurt feelings at his non-recognition of her at their second meeting. Yet she is willing to give him a second chance. Their friendship evolves into a real relationship, filled with all the angst of young love - sexual attraction, misunderstandings, jealousy, forgiveness.

Lex Martin did a wonderful job writing Finding Dandelion. The chemistry between Jax and Dani seemed to pour off the pages, along with the witty humor. I felt as if I could feel the characters emotions and that means a lot to me when I'm reading a book. Catching up with Gavin and Clem was nice as well and was done in such a way that you don't need to read their book to be able to read this one. Stand alone novels in a series are the best. I'd highly recommend Finding Dandelion.

When I read there was going to be a Jaz story I was so very excited. He was intriguing in Dearest Clementine and I was so excited to read his story. We meet Dani a girl who is closed off and a very shy girl. She has a list she wants to get through and promises made to her mom to live life a bit more. And one night she meets Jax and they instantly have a pull. The two have one hot night together and then down the road they run into each other. Only Jax doesn't remember her and it's for a good reason. So Dani tries her very best to avoid him at all costs. But the pull is too much. One day Jax accidently hits her with his car and ends up taking care of her. The two hit it off and become close. And then BAM he remembers how they know each other and he is hurt. So he runs and Dani runs. Then tragedy strikes and she is on her way back home to maybe never return. And Jax realizes everything was not as it seems and he may of just lost the one thing that made him whole. His chance at a future and a family. Will he be able to get Dani back in time? you will have to read to find out. It was truly an amazing read and I think I loved it more than Dearest Clementine. I could not put it down once started and it captured my attention. Loved every second and looking forward to Daren's story!

Must read series for sure.

"I can't promise I won't hurt you because I know I'm an idiot sometimes, but I want to try, and maybe if you help me, I can be more for you. " "I want to be more for you."

"Because you're what makes me want everything else."

This is the second book in the dearest series and I really liked how there was some overlap of the time frame from Dearest Clementine. You get to see the pov of Jax & Dani which I thought was a good touch. Helps to solidify relationships and make it feel like a cohesive series. I liked Jax's character in the first book and really wanted to get to know him in this book. The author did a great job in filling out both characters just like she did in Dearest Clementine. She also did the dual pov really well. It flowed very nicely and stuck with one character longer if needed and didn't go back and forth and make it choppy. I liked the growth of both characters, Dani started out being a bit of a pushover and not liking confrontation to finding the strength within to start speaking her mind and standing up for herself. Jax's growth was more in finding what really matters in life and realizing that where he was headed was a lonely shallow life. I did feel like the different misunderstandings to keep these two characters apart were a little drawn out but it fulfilled the angsty part of the story. Even though this is romance I feel like this series is more about friendships and really being there unconditionally for your friends and loved ones. That's what I like the most is the bond of friendship even between the two characters that end up falling in love with each other. I'm enjoying this series and can't wait to read Kissing Madeline which is Daren's story, I'm hoping that the author Lex Martin can redeem him.
