As I'd said, this follow up book is just as super as the #1. I liked it a lot. I can't say enough about the author's handling of the "required" parts on sex. Unlike most, Moen handled, my opinion anyway, it with great taste. I blushed, but that's just me. In this one I thought that the scene was a bit more embarrassing, however, I'm on the old fashion, and on the shy side about the bedroom scenes. I'm one of "those" woman who'd look around to see if anyone around me know what I'm reading about. Silly. I know, especially at my age. At any rate, if you haven't read the 1st yet, you should. It will help greatly. But I think that it can stand alone too.
Sorry about not talking about the book's details, however briefly I may. I think that it's better just to say that it is a fine, and worthwhile book to spend your time on it. And it is. So. If you are considering it, make the choice. I believe that you'll be glad you did. Enjoy it, and allow yourself to get away awhile and enter the world of fiction. It's stress relieving.
Thank you for your time.
I have to say Jenni Moen can write.
This is another heart stoppingly good book that takes you on the emotional ride that is Adam and Alexis' broken lives picking up from where book one finished. It will send you through a rollercoaster of feelings that will have you on the edge of your seat unable to put this book down.
The characters are well developed and you will find yourself drawn into the story.
Well done Jenni.
I loved Adam - this man was amazing - he was so intuitive, he was clever, thoughtful and so dedicated to embracing the curveballs that life constantly threw his and Allie's way. I loved how he was able to rise above his pain and see Allie and all that she was, especially when he took her out in a boat to get her to open up and talk and he said simply but so succinctly Allie "Rock the Boat" - in other words we will handle life together and move forward. OMG! We could all do with an Adam in our lives.
Allie came from a privileged background but despite that and despite her parents deception she faced her demons, her guilt and was able to forgive herself and move forward with Adam. She had a big heart especially for Lizzie and her situation, a young girl who did not have a safe home environment and Allie stepped forward like a sister to help Lizzie's dysfunctional home life. Allie is not just physically beautiful but she is soulful beautiful. Allie was also extremely giving and understanding towards Adam
Read the series I can't rave enough it truly hits you in the heart. Awesome story - awesome author - Thank you Jenni Moen for sharing a wonderful story!
Very well-written and excellent character development. You have to read Remembering Joy first -- this is not a standalone. Adam could've been a really creepy character if not written just right, and the author nailed it. You understand his motives enough in the beginning to understand that the things he does are somehow -- justifiable....at least in the story.
Love this line....
"You wonder when it's going to get easier for us, but it's not easy for anybody, Allie. Everyone has their shit. It's different shit for different people, but it's still all shit. Being able to deal with it...that's where greatness lies.

Life's a funny, effed up thing, Adam. But I think you got it right. You know firsthand how short and unpredictable life can be.Read more
