I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This story has is set in the beautiful Montana countryside, with one group of female friends trying to get their widowed friend enjoying life again whilst a group of local men are endeavouring to do the same for their divorced friend. The interactions between individuals and the groups, the diverse personalities, are all portrayed brilliantly. There’s humour, family interference, some very different attitudes from their grown up children and romance in this thoroughly enjoyable story which is a pleasure to escape into. I hope the subsequent stories in the series will feature romances for some of their other friends and will be looking out for them as I'd love to read them!
I requested and received an ARC of this novel without obligation to read. This is my honest review.
Finding Love Again is a happy, easy read that delves into the lives of Ryan and Shannon, both looking for love the second time around. It is a shortish book of 124 pages, but is enjoyable. Add in a girls vacation, some not-so-happy grown-up children and a beautiful backdrop of scenic Montana and you have the story that is Finding Love Again.
I liked this book as the main characters of Ryan and Shannon are family-oriented, both close to their children, slighty hesitant, but ever so aware of the growing attraction between one another. Shannon struggles with this, a widow who finds it hard to let go of her husband after his death, and Ryan, divorced from his ex-wife, with his three children not keen for him to move on and meet someone else. But it is a lovely journey that follows, I laughed in places and was really cheering for them!
The story is set around Ryan's ranch where Shannon and her friends are holidaying and I hope this series continues with the story of Shannon's friends, or the townsfolk who we are introduced to in Finding Love Again.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I would recommend to those who enjoy reading romance, and I look forward to more books in the series.
I would give the book 3.5 stars rather than the full 4, mainly because it was a little too 'insta-love' for me. The story was well thought through and I like that the hero and heroine were in their 40's. There were plenty of good supporting characters, along with the two main ones, and they are all well written. The book has been well edited and maintained a good pace through out. It is an easy read, no real heartache but some pretty raunchy love scenes and mild angst.
Generally the dialogue was natural and convincing, occasionally it felt a little stilted - but then it could be that it is American English and I am English English!
I received this book from after glow publishing for my honest review
