Amazing!!!! I know from the beginning that this book was a roller-coaster of emotions. Trent Wallace is a jerk, but I love him…. The heroine is a badass woman. There’s a love story but also a story about the struggling with addition, and loss. Because of that, the story is angst but is worth the read. Is well written, the plot was amazing, and the couple chemistry was powerful beyond expected. My heart is with this couple because they are complicated people that seems to fight for their love. I’m sure you will love this story so much like I do!!! I recommend it 100%.
Whew!! This book was an absolute emotional roller coaster that had loops and the highest drops one can imagine. It was absolutely perfect, for Trent and Shay anyways.
This book is not an easy read and deals with incredibly sensitive topics such as drug abuse and physical abuse. It was hard to read in spots and gut wrenching in others. It felt very realistic. If you suffer from triggers for such topics, please keep this warning in mind.
Trent and Shay are far from perfect but their story was perfectly written for them. It was beautifully imperfect. It was full of scars and roses. It was real. There is no sugar coating anything in this story. These are two characters that will leave a lasting impression. Trent will break your heart but hopefully he can mend it by the time you're done with the story.
Let's talk details and descriptions. They aren't lacking in any part of the story. There were a few parts that made me cringe and a few parts that made me tear up. I don't think anyone could possibly want more in this department.
The bedroom scenes will steam up your glasses, kindle screen, Windows, anything you're around or reading on. They are hot!! Wowsa! Talk about making a girl blush.
So, would I read this book again? You betcha! So, that means I'm recommending you to go get the book and read it!

When it was good, it was great.
When it was bad, it was worse.
My life turned into a whirlwind of destruction before I even got the chance to love her.
Shay Kirby could have been my angel, my saving grace; I never gave her the chance.
I gave myself a taste of her angelic kiss, convincing her to love with everything she had. Then I destroyed her. I destroyed both of us and I felt nothing as I did it.
I didn't feel anything in my sorry state.
We both had secrets and both of them would have destroyed us in one way or another.
Hers could have possibly been bigger than mine, but I doubted it from the start.
I knew I had the quality of devastation within me the entire time.
I'm the king of lies.
I'm the king of addiction.
I'm the king of turmoil.
I'm the king of motherf*cking heartbreak.
I never expected to face so much pain, agony, and to find out what it means to be able to believe in hope once again when you were surrounded by darkness. This is my first novel read by T.E. Black and I cannot lie when I say that I've been through an emotional rollercoaster: frustration, anger, sadness, happiness and relief. Finding Sadness is part of the Unexpected Love series, following Shay, a single mother, and Trent, a tattoo shop owner with a hidden past, as they try to overcome their personal demons that impact their relationship. This is one couple who's chemistry is both alluring and frustrating: as much as Trent could push Shay away from him, building walls up to protect himself from more pain, while Shay looks for someone who can be her rock. The way they keep secrets from each other is frustrating, all you feel like doig is yelling at the two to smarten up before they lose one of the most important things that means the most to each other. The alluring part is you simply couldn't look away as Trent and Shay discovered their attraction for one another and eventually their love. This was one journey that I truly enjoyed from start to finish: an author that knew exactly the journey she wanted her readers to experience. T.E. Black is one author that I'll be recommending with Finding Serenity, and subsequently, the Unexpected Love series.

As superb as Shay and Trent were as a couple, for me it was Trent that had me captivated all the way…he had it all going on and he knew it, he was just the right side of alpha for me, he was the perfect pitch of maleness and I was swooning in the corner.
Shay wasn’t looking for a partner but when she fell for Trent she wasn’t playing around, after all it wasn’t just her that she was bringing to the party, she had a child that was dependant on her being strong enough to pick the right man and Trent was as far from the right man as you could have possible imagined.
Trent was bad news but who can argue when love gets it claws in, Shay was hooked and there was no letting go…she, no they had to find a way to make what they have work.
I was frustrated somewhat when Shay seemed to follow the well-trod path of thinking that she can change this so called bad guy. Really she needs to get out more, nobody was ever going to change him unless he wanted to, luckily for her Trent was at the point in his life that he was ready to get with the program and the fact that little Abby stole his heart almost as much as Shay did was a win/win situation.
The book is funny in places and sad in others but what threw me was the frustration that it foisted upon me at times.
My heart broke for Trent, I felt emotional broken by his story and I had expected to find Shay more engaging and relatable. I just wanted him to find his happy and for all the right reasons. I knew that with Shay and Abby he would be the man he was always destined to be but getting there was such a raw process.
A beautifully dramatic, yet ultimately romantic read. One that doesn’t just give the Shay her man but gives Trent his future and that brought a smile to my face.
