Out of all the personal development books, Apryl's book really spoke to me, especially as an overachieving Asian American.
It's written in a fun, relatable, and entertaining way... not like a boring textbook or lecture. Apryl balances her personal stories with practical advice. Imagine your older brother or sister giving you advice and sharing their experiences. She truly cares and finding "true homie" advice is so rare these days.
There were moments when I was like... "THAT'S ME!" This is a MUST read for...
-Overachievers with "successful" careers who feel an emptiness right before going to bed
-People pleasers who constantly cycle through overcommitment and burnout
-People who just want to have FUN again
The message I love about Apryl's book is that we don't need to Chinese sweatshop everything. In fact, you can have fun and kill your goals without beating yourself up or martyring yourself.
A must read. You won't regret picking up this book.
This book will resonate for people who are spinning too many plates, up against big choices, those who are sick of the same old, and/or those who don't know where to go next. The actionable tips and framework offered cover all aspects of life, including the often overlooked Personal Development. Apryl's cheerleader ethic and buoyant outlook are refreshing and help convince the reader that they too can get in on her uplifting wave.
