Interpol's new cd is freaking great. Interpol are still just as gloomy, somber, and great to listen to when you have depression. I can't think of any other non-metal band that appeals more to my constant mental torment than Interpol. They're never going to make another Turn on the Bright Lights so stop wishing they will. their music is just as good as ever but you all are missing out on it cuz you're still stuck in the past and are still butthurt that their one bassist left the band over 9 YEARS AGO. get over it.
I've read a few reviews about this EP, and I can't believe what I'm reading. If it's so bad, why have I listened to it in its entirety about 15 times? Sure, the production isn't as sharp as some of their newer efforts, but I'm sure it's that way by design. They could've made this one sound more like Marauder and less like the self-titled, but they didn't want to and for my ears it works well. Don't believe the reviews of this EP. Give it a go. It really is a gem.
Seriously, If you like Marauder, you will also like this EP because it was done by the same producer, at the same time than the the last LP. It's sound is bare-bones more straightforward and than their previous work
